Barcelona 3-0 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion

For me (and for many i'm sure) tonight's result has twisted the knife in the likliehood that we miss out on the title, the Champions League represents a chance at salvaging some silverware and a cushion to the blow of somehow not winning the title despite an incredible points tally. There's always a slim chance but 3-0 was a heart-breaking result and not what we deserved.   

On the same boat as you. This loss has hit me harder than usual. Like you, I felt it was a winnable competition and for us to end the season with a major trophy as well as a cushion to the blow for not winning the league.

I do not know how many people watch Barcelona regularly, but this is how they approach some games. They play two up top, sit deep and look to counter. And that is what they did majority of the game. It was their back four, and the midfield four simply sitting back, Messi walking most of the game and waiting for a ball to come his way with Suarez doing some pressing.

At this level, the team that takes its chances is the one that mostly goes on to the final. This may not be the Barcelona team that Guardiola had, it is not the team that had Messi, Neymar and Suarez terrorizing teams, but they still have Messi. And when he is at his best or close to it, there is nothing a team can do to stop him.

Could have had two goals, but they could have also done better with some of their counters. Have a proper go at it at Anfield, that is all a fan can ask for.

Suppose as it's a exercise in straw clutching...if we were 2-0 down we would still have a chance..but we'd have to score 3 to go thru on 90 minutes..so what Klopp does..he says..just imagine we are only 2 down and we need 3 to win...and hey presto..we go to extra time...straws well and truly clutched..

CT_LFC should take a good watch of this, given that he was so upset when I referred to this incident earlier on.

This should go viral, and the pathetic child should be banned from the next match. He did more in conning the ref than he did in anything on that pitch tonight. One quality free kick, one lucky goal (ball literally fell for him to tap in) and little else. Moaning to the ref all night, diving, fouling, rolling... punching Fabinho.

Tonight these small margins went against Liverpool and the team still played some great football.
