Am I missing something with Sturridge? Aside from the pass to Trent for the Salah goal, I thought he was sh*te, just as bad as against Huddersfield. Constantly offered nothing in attack, lost the ball easily and then sent a number of efforts well over the bar.
The stream I watched the game on described it as watching a “trialist” in the team and I thought that was bang on, couldn’t have looked more out of place if he tried. It was almost clear that the lads were trying bypass him if possible and saw Hendo have to tell him numerous times where to be.

Wins a win and that’s what is important but that was crap from a lot of the team. Lovren so slow in his distribution, got dribbled past with ease by Atsu which led on to the Rondon goal and was slow getting into position.
Trent just as bad defensively but got the assists.
Gini and Hendo didn’t really offer much and were taking heavy touches.

We had some good spells in the game as you would expect but there were large parts, more so in the second half where the game was just passing by half the team. Disappointing performance when you consider what we are capable of and have been showing.

But we got the win and that’s all I care about, now isn’t the time for pretty football, now is the time for 3 points and nothing else comes close.

Seems Mo will miss barca clash as protocol is one week for any head k ock. Bobby already out for season. It just a pity think if all our three had been fit first leg think we would not be 3 down and would go through at home. Without bobby and Mo sadly I think only chance is pla D city need drop points Monday as Brighton are on there hols. Also wolves are on fire and have our game to guarantee euro qualification. Whatever happens its been a great journey.

Interestingly where has Captain fantastic been last couple of games, talk about disappearing into his shell  >:(
      Completely anonymous performances.

except that he did OK as did Fabinho. Hendo has more average/ok games than most but he always gives 100%.He probed and worked hard the whole game..

As probably the most advanced midfielder tonight how did he affect the game?

Where was he providing defensive support to Trent who was struggling again!

No he wasn’t ok he was poor for someone wearing the Captains armband, not that makes any difference.

We were pretty poor today. Worst game I've seen Fabinho play. Other than the assist for Origi, did Shaqiri touch the ball?  Sturridge did well. Except faffing around with the ball in the first half, the backline did well. MOTM to the big man for me as Rondon was a handfull, but could just have easily been Robbo or Trent. Over to you Brendan, do us a favour!

How anyone can criticise Sturridge after that game tonight is just ridiculous, and just demonstrates how desperate some of our fans are to have at go at the lad.

Did not have a bad game by a mile. Contributed, played well.. and we won over all. He was a part of a team that pulled through a scrappy, tough game. Few players were shining from tonight's game. None of our front 3 were. Salah missed some big chances - despite also scoring a great goal with a nice finish too.

A 'striker' as Sturridge is, is going to struggle in our setup where we don't play for a Striker. You could see moments where Salah was in the space that Sturridge wanted to occupy. He's not going to play the speedy football of Mane and Salah. But he's a quality finisher, and needs opportunities that Strikers get.

There's a few players I could have a moan at, but why? Let's enjoy the MASSIVE win for what it is!!

You must have watched another game, Sturridge was terrible.

Kept giving the ball away and wasn't committed enough to even press like Firmino does.

      Past his best.

Brendy is our last chance. Had to laugh at a tweet to Jamie vardys wife from a city fan tonight. It said  make sure Jamie not ready for city and that no one wants lfc to win the league to which vardy wife responded well I want liverpool to win.. Well said.

If salah out Tuesday and Bobby's out naby's out. How do we score four and concede none. Origi and sturridge have very little mobility compared to those two. Does shaqiri start. What has happened to lallana has hardly played any football last two seasons? Minor muscle injury is always severe for that guy.

Whatever happens we all agree surely it been a memorable season. Fact we're bringing a team that has spent over a billion pounds to last game is amazing. If there's any justice or lady luck we win the Premier league as we have had no such luck over last number of seasons since brendy and klopp arrived. We can only hope this time luck is on our side. We deserve that much.

Well that was a good do, good bit of craic. Drama right up to the last kick. Nobody does it better. Only downside was Mo getting injured.Obviously could've done with an easy game and we were a bit indisciplined. The easy way that VVD headed the first goal might've lulled us a bit and we went off the boil a bit after that goal.

Credit to Rafa, none of that " we'll let them win" crap from Gunner Solskjear. Rafa sent his team out to fight, he won't short change the Newcastle fans. And it was a hard fought win. Over to Leicester..lets hope they fight as much as Newcastle.

He wasn’t poor. You admittedly don’t like him so unfortunately I can’t take anything you say about him serious. I sometimes think you are pulling a Rib and just trying to wind certain people up.

If Hendo plays and we don't play all that well..then he's the easy target. He knows that as well. I'll knock him if he deserves it. He has played very well of late and it was a surprise he wasn't in against Barca. He did Ok tonight. Fabinho didn't catch the eye either but he's not an easy target. So Hendo gets it. Predictable obviously. He's probably resigned to the fact that he doesn't get the support others get.

Agree 100% Sturridge was so off the pace it was cringe worthy. He got an assist so he did contribute to be fair but that was his some total contribution in 98 minutes of football. For the rest he was basically useless. Anyone who thinks he he had a great game is a f**king idiot.

Studge off, anyone but Origi on.

That's right. Nothing good will happen if he comes on.

Let's not underestimate Wolves even at home. They are classy.

Agree it will not be easy. We have the more difficult of the two games. Then there's a question of who will be left to play for us. Sheesh!!!

We can still do it, but nothing automatic about winning vs. Wolves.

Just looking at the PL table, only Leicester can catch Wolves (for the possible last EL spot) with 2 wins now I know Beating Citeh is unlikely but it means BOTH teams need to win, so obviously a draw would suit both Wolves and Liverpool and allow Wolves to 'go easy on us' ;D

Agree mate, Studge gave a Bobby impersonation for about 25 mins but the energy levels Bobby has few can match,it saw Studge play to his strengths, like facing the crowd in the corner 2 players around him,he megs the guy with a back-heel for Trent to swing it, and Mo finish it,must admit I thought it was the bollocks ,but theres no pleasing some I suppose . ;)

One other point I gave Andy MOTM absolute stalwart what a buy this guy has been, gutsy, never stops, a quality football player ,Im so glad Robbo signed a longer deal with us,he could sign for anyone at the minute, jeez I hate to think what he`s worth now, ÂŁ60,ÂŁ70 ,million thank f**k he hates Paella.

Brilliant victory, in a very entertaining game. Always plenty of goals, when these two sides meet.
