Last year I was buzzing although it was Real Madrid I had a feeling we'd win this time I'm a lot calmer forcing myself to not get carried away, our best beats their best but we still have to perform at that level, I hope we're not too cagey.
My Mrs has booked something at the Empire tomorrow afternoon, there's no way I'm gonna be settled watching that, just want it to come around now.

All this superstitious stuff was happening last year and look what happened there.

Confident for this one, first time in a while we have got to a final with the better team.

Picks itself mostly expect for midfield. I’d have Hendo, Fab and Gini I think, but think Milner would feel hard done by to be left out.

Team on the plane now to Madrid.  Bit odd that Spurs have already been there a few days.  Don't think it makes much difference just interesting the way two teams prepare differently.

Liverpool preparing just like a normal European away (i.e going the afternoon before) while Spurs players will definitely know it's something different.

Confident for this one, first time in a while we have got to a final with the better team.

It's probably the first time since 1978 we've gone in to a European Cup final as the favourites?

Personally, I think they're going to be a bag of nerves until they settle into the match, and we need to take advntage of that.

Think that's why they arrived in Madrid a few day's earlier than us.To acclimatise and to calm any nerves. I think they might just be a bit twitchy in the first 10 minutes or so. Could be that they feel LESS pressure as we start favourites.Hard to judge, we just need to pass it well early on and settle quickly.

3-1 for me. An early goal for us...they come back, go close but we get the 2nd on about 35mins. They get one back on 65mins or so. They push us but we break away and make it 3-1 in 86th minute.

I'm thinking it might have the opposite effect to calming them.
It's like when a bloke is preparing for a first date with a girl he really likes.
Start thinking about what to wear on wednesday, and by the time the date rolls round on Saturday, he's a gibbering wreck.

Get used to an empty stadium, and when faced with a full one, with tens of thousands of scousers singing YNWA Istanbul style, it's a double whammy.

Bottom line; too much time to think isn't a good thing.

Liverpool fans have renamed Margaret Thatcher square in Madrid ahead of the Champions League final.

The Spanish capital was the first place in the world to name a square after the former Prime Minster in 2014 - and in doing so divided many opinions.

Just a year later Manuela Carmena, the mayor of Madrid, proposed changing the name of the plaza following controversy but the name still stands.

Now Reds supporters have arrived in Madrid, it seems they have done it themselves.

Fans have hung up signs that read ‘Jeremy Corbyn Square’, posting them over the Thatcher wording.

The former Tory PM is deeply unpopular on Merseyside - and particularly in Liverpool - for her treatment of the city in the 1980s.

Her policy towards Liverpool was famously described as 'managed decline' by her cabinet minister Geoffrey Howe.

Paul Doherty, from Walton, was one of those fans involved in the square's 'rebranding'.

He told the ECHO: “They commemorate thatcher in Madrid but they don’t really understand what she did to the city and our people.

“Liverpool is Labour, always has been always will be, so we decided to commemorate that with Jezza here."
