LFC top Premier League (and UEFA CL) earnings
      May 25, 2019 11:45:56 am
This may have been posted in another thread.

Liverpool, due to having more games shown live, earned the most from the Premier League TV money last year.

The League's central revenues are distributed to clubs in the following manner:

      UK broadcast revenues
      50 per cent equally shared;
      25 per cent shared based on how often a club’s matches are broadcast in the UK (known as "Facility Fees");
25 per cent shared based on where a club finish in the league table (known as "Merit Payments")
Central Commercial revenues: Equally shared by clubs
International broadcasting revenues: Equally shared by clubs

The League also supports the EFL with more than £100million per season of Solidarity Payments and ringfenced Youth Development grants.

And, irrespective of the result in the UEFA CL final, the reds will also earn the most from European football this year.

Approximately £100M from the UEFA CL and £150M from the Premier League.  Almost £250M in total from the two before we even get into ticketing and sponsorship.

A total of £250M from broadcasting.  To put this in perspective, in the first accounts after FSG took over our broadcasting income was £65M.

As a brand the club has grown so much since FSG took over.

The money has been put into long term projects like the new stand and improving the training grounds, as more recently heavier investment into the team.

Even the most stern FSG protestor must hold their hands up now and say they've done a superb job.

£250M from broadcasting rights is a mindblowing figure.

Wow, didn't realise we were pulling in that amount.
Huge revenue growth in the last 2 years.
Good to see some returns given how well the club seems to be run right now.
Doing well on, and off, the pitch :)

Ticking over nicely no doubt about that.

The foundations are now set to challenge at the back end of big tournaments with the money over the last 2 seasons beginning to be reinvested back into the squad.

The missing peice of the puzzle is trophies and hopefully that will come along soon.

It's disgusting that with that revenue Premier League clubs don't reduce ticket prices.

Its clear the fans are way down the list of priorities for all clubs these days. When you sell out every game its easy enough to ignore them knowing they have other people waiting to get a ticket. Imagine a family in Anfield of Mum ,Dad and two kids wanting to go to home games not a chance.

Haha poor b***ard. 3 games of rugby yesterday and 3 more today. His beloved pitch will be in tatters.

I'm guessing we will be relaying it straight afterwards because there wont be much left of it by half 8 tonight.

We will collect £100 million for winning the champions league...

So that would take us to £200 million earned this season just alone on TV revenue..😳

Free plastic flags all round then.
TV money is just insane these days . Didn't we make £115 mil profit last season and all revenue made was to go to the team so with this season even better when in Mbappe coming.

A small reduction in the price of tickets would show appreciation, to the loyal fans. This in view of the vast amount of money the club has made, but this is modern day football !

By freezing the price, the club have done exactly that - in real terms the cost of tickets has gone down.

Compared to most other PL clubs the ticketing structures at Liverpool and very fair

98mill if we win, 94.7mill (I think) if we lose again. Financially, once you’re in the final, there isn’t really anything in it between winning it or being runners.

not if you have two kids and live in Anfield and deliver the post it isn't mate. This club is built on the support of dockers and Car workers , plumbers and electricians and they are slowly being priced out of going to games. Football is not for working class families and so much more could be done to make sure the local school kids could get to games

All Premier League clubs should give away 250 free tickets for each home game. Deserving families and disadvantaged kids should be able to apply for these tickets or a similar Free Ticket Give Something Back plan. The amount of money in the game is staggering so a little bit of social generosity wouldn't go amiss.

      Agree.

I'd like to see our club lead the way on this. I know with the new Main Stand we have some reduced tickets but nowhere near enough and we could set a standard by looking into ideas like you mention.

Clubs like ours simply don't need to fleece the match going supporters as much as they do.
