Just dawned on me that we now play vs Chelsea in the Super Cup (Istanbul) on 14 August.. just after the start of the new season. Wonder how that will impact things. Also a nice warm up game vs Man City of course in the Charity Shield. Will be nice to keep picking up trophies (albeit the Charity Shield isn't considered such) to drive forward that winning mentality.

Could be a great start to the new season!!

Any game against Citeh is big, and when we win that match it will set the tempo for the league campaign, then its a Chelsea team without Hazard which should be a great opportunity to add even more silverware.

I know mate, but I mean the Charity Shield won't be considered a 'trophy' for our great tally.

We are not like those Mancs who count minor success...  ;D

It will be sinking in to a few of these just how big this club is now.

The likes of Ox who has been at Arsenal for quite some time will be identifying himself as a liverpool fan from here on in I'd imagine.

This club leaves a lasting impression on many who have been a part, no matter who they go on to play for.

      Correct mate..
I watched how genuinely emotional Jordan Henderson was last night in his interview after the final whistle and he only has one club in his heart. Despite the shouts for big Van to become captain I honestly believe that Hendo will wear the armband for a good few years yet.

If I was part of the whole thing I just don't know how I could possibly go on and kick a ball for another club..

So technically we would be entered into the next world Club Cup in 2021, but the ECA, INcludng Liverpool, are opposed to the expanded version.  This is all about FIFA and clubs fighting over money between more international matches vs. more club matches between elite teams.

I would have liked to see us win this in december in the old format, but I doubt Klopp will feel too badly about not having to take a trip to Japan or Dubai or whereever in the middle of the season for competitive matches with Premier League matches then pushed back in the schedule to make for more congestion.

Honestly, I am really not arsed about that club World Cup at all. Holding it in the middle of the season is too disruptive and we are going for the Prem next year against a team that offers very few openings. If they could play it before the proper season kicks off that would be perfect.

Can someone get me a copy of the Sunday Star. It has the backpage that said "IncREDibles". I'll PayPal you the shipping and costs. If someone can help me out it would be appreciated. Plus any Liverpool papers that have inserts or special editions.

Just got home - I’m still smiling ear to ear , have no voice , so tired but feel i could go on

The atmosphere before the game was brilliant , both sets of fans have a great time , inside was amazing , YNWA was spine tingling. Breathtaking start and then what a sh*te game until Bigcocks quality finish and the place just erupted and from then just a party , could see Carra nearly on the pitch at the end he was desperate for the whistle which then went and then just pure elation

After that it’s just a blur of drink and travel

In Madrid we won it 6 times

What a way to cap off what was a great season, feels great to have some silverware to show for all our good work we put in the last few seasons under Klopp.

As for the match not hard to tell both sides had a long lay-off, very loose passing and not much sharpness to the pay. I never thought the final would play out like that where Spurs were the one with more of the ball and we were the side setting up to say "come break us down" but after the early goal it made it a lot easier to play that way. I thought before having Allison who has been great all season could be the difference and I believe he was, though Spurs didn't create much in terms of call cut chances but when called upon he answered. I thought Matip had a very good game as well, Spurs were targeting him with Kane always playing on his side but he made some key tackles and interceptions. As much as we enjoy attacking football the theme this season been the defending and being hard to score on and that is how we won this final.

Hoping this is will be the beginning of collecting silverware under Klopp, we have a great squad with a lot of talent and I am looking forward to see what kind of damage we can do in the up coming years.
