      This is it

Here we are, then. After a three-week wait, Liverpool are ready to contest a ninth European Cup final - with Tottenham Hotspur their opponents in Madrid.

      The manager's message

"It is a while ago we fell in love with each other and that's now how it is. We've worked together for a while and we will work together for a couple more years and everything is fine," said Klopp of his relationship with the club.

"We sit here before a Champions League final and that's - as I understand it - the biggest game in world football for clubs, so I think it's normal that I am in a good shape and a good mood.

"Even when I was unlucky, I am maybe silly enough to try it again and again and again and I don't waste time before a game being in a bad mood. As I've learned, I have enough time for that after a game! We will be there and we will try to play a very positive game."

      Some statistics...

Sadio Mane could become the first Liverpool player ever to score in back-to-back European Cup finals

The Reds are unbeaten in the last five European games against English teams, winning three and drawing two

Jordan Henderson will be the fourth player to captain an English side in two European Cup finals, after Emlyn Hughes, Steven Gerrard, and John McGovern

This is Klopp's third major European final with Liverpool - only Bob Paisley (four) has ever guided the club to more

      Team news:

The teamsheet is in and it confirms Roberto Firmino does indeed start for Liverpool in the Champions League final after overcoming a muscle issue.

Elsewhere, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho get the nod to begin in midfield, while new UEFA regulations mean 12 substitutes are named on the bench.

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Substitutes: Mignolet, Lovren, Milner, Gomez, Sturridge, Moreno, Lallana, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Shaqiri, Brewster, Origi, Kelleher.

Spurs: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane.

Substitutes: Gazzaniga, Vorm, Sanchez, Foyth, Aurier, Wanyama, Dier, Walker-Peters, Lucas, Lamela, Llorente

I had a feeling they would go for a diamond, it's how they took control vs us in the 2nd half the last time we met them. Surprised Moura is dropped, but I am worried about the impact he would offer when he's subbed on, bit like Sane for City. Another surprise is to see Winks!

Nothing to be nervous about. Just play our normal game and get the job done. We killed Barca and Bayern. They got lucky with a last minute shot. BT already having a field day saying the pressure is on us. Unfit Kane starts! Brave.

Think they have thought Moura would make more of an impact off Bench than Kane . Moura and Llorente will both come on if they are chasing it

If we go 3 up before half, then good luck with chasing.

Spurs is not more fearful than Barca, Bayern, PSG. They get Spursy quite often. If any, it's those ghostly images that are haunting us.

I've a feeling Sadio would score and Bobby would get one of those team goals. That's two already.

I'm already plastered, a little baked too! Planned on watching the game in bed, but my landlord convinced to go to café. He doesn't have a word of English and my Vietnamese is pretty terrible, but the football will cover the conversation!

Spurs are a quality side, I'm shaking. We'll get em though! LETS GO!

Spurs made the right choice. Origi God bless him bagged 2 but he was never in contention to start.

Kane playing is good for them. Moura can be hit or miss and best used as am impact player.
