Would love to see Haaland here with Mo.
But don’t think we will find him in Poundland but you never know FSG might push the boat out, here's hoping but I won't hold my breath.

Either, or. If we sold Mo, might be able to afford it.
      Not going to happen.
Certainly not going to buy someone like that without also selling big.

There will only be three clubs that can afford him

Well if Citeh get him, they may as well engrave the Prem trophy with their name on for the next few years and as Rafa would say that is fact.

any Marquee signing will be at the cost of a Marquee sale. Without Couthino going we would not have got Virgil or Ali and imagine where we would be without those two players an indication if needed that quality players win things.

Wonder how much Barca would be looking for Phil?
Or would they let him go in January on loan until season end.
I'm not a fan of resigning guys, particularly the way Cou left.
But with the lads off to AFCON and no visible plan in place to cover for them, would swallow pride and take Cou on loan if available in Jan.
Probably wouldn't be arsed signing him though, unless seriously cut price.
Very very unlikely though, dirtied his bib a bit too much.

Yeah, if we could get him cheap or on loan then I wouldn't be against him coming back either.

There's a couple of players at Barca that could be picked up maybe cheaply in this window. Dembele would be one, although his injury record puts me off. Wouldn't necessarily turn my nose up at Depay either. Could play him wide or up front, would give us decent cover.

He'd be a great sub, but it would be a PR disaster for them to sell to us after we milked them dry. Will never happen.

He knows the players, the manager, the style of play, and probably reckons has a point to prove.
Would say its pretty long odds on it happening though, but you never know.

Think someone highlighted earlier that Jürgen doesnt do second chances. Andd he warned Coutinho out straight before he left didnt he, be a legend here or move and be another number, spot on Jürgen was, no way will he take him back

He's got a massive point to prove. I suspect he'd love to come back, and Jürgen didn't seem to hold too much of a grudge against him. Be embarrassing for Barca to sell him back cheap so probably won't happen but they are desperate to cut their wage bill these days so, yeah, you never know.

Generally I don't like resigning guys either. And Cou didn't cover himself in glory when leaving.
But at the end of the day, maybe question should be - would he improve us...

Wonder if he could turn the clock back, would he do the same...
And if he didn't go, and we didn't get 140mill, would we sign both VVD and Ally, and go onto a title soon after...

      But yeah, think its unlikely.

Regardless of the circumstances when he left, it's worth remembering that the fella has been dogshit for four years & has recently struggled to even cement himself in the worst Barcelona side in living memory.

Rumours are he's being touted for around £7.5M which isn't much at all in modern football terms, but if that's the case it'll give him a decent amount of leverage to demand a fairly high salary. Being 29 years of age I'm sure he'll be wanting this contract to be fairly substantial seeing as it would probably be the last "long term" deal he's ever going to sign. Arsenal are supposedly interested which comes as zero surprise, given their keenness to offer ridiculously lucrative contracts to over the hill has-beens (Ozil, Willian, Peter Cech, Mykhitarian, David Luiz to name but a few) - So can see him going there.

Phil should be in his prime ,he isnt ,he left under a cloud shall we say ,the big fella sort of said theres no coming back,IM not fussed if he comes back as long as it makes us better and thats the big question , as for Dembele injury prone and doesn't want to come to the UK has said on several occasion, his wages are spooky why would LFC be interested

Don’t get the clamour for him to come back. He’s absolutely sh*te these days, not sure what he would offer us, that’s before you even consider how he left.

Just gone so spectacularly tits up at Barce -- literally youth team players are picked ahead of him -- that it is hard to see how this would be a good idea. Few players have ever cost so much money and yet done so little for their club.

When you think of Barce you think the end of the Messi era, financial chaos and aging mercenaries, chief amongst them Coutinho who has helped Barce from perennial winners to also-rans at a time when frankly Real aren't even that strong. He and Demebele...few transfer decisions can have been so catastrophic for one club.

Nobody will pay his wage or he would have left. What does that say about where he wants to be in his career? If he can't fight to secure his place in circumstances where by rights he should be one of the most senior players leading the team, why would he do so here, where his return is likely to be greeted with massive skepticism? His next destination will be whoever pays the most money or offers the most comfortable package.

Better off trying one of the youngsters, rather than resigning Coutinho, they have not let the club down in the cup competitions, when given their chance on the pitch.

Makes no sense to talk about this guy, he's just not good enough anymore for a club with our ambition. It's like talking about Emre Can coming back - nobody would want him here anymore for he'd be just a downgrade.

Hes off to Villa with his old pal.

Or watch the geordies outbid them. Both good moves for him.

Newcastle will pay the money for him. They're in desperate need of players to get them out of that relegaton battle.

tbh. I think he could be a legend there. But I have a sneaky feeling if Villa and gerrard want him, he will go there.

Villa seems a logical choice for him with Stevie as manager he knows his strengths and Villa are secure in the EPL.
