Don't know that I'd say he's regular starting Premier League level at this point. I think he might be a little ahead of himself if he thinks that. To me he's right about the level of Quansah or maybe a touch below. So he's 3rd or 4th choice but with injuries and rest he'd likely get plenty of game time.

No Brainer for me, we’ll need a replacement for Joel so why not this fella, his stats back up his capabilities and he has enough experience now with playing in the Bundesliga, he has impressed in the States and I think he’s only gonna get better, going out on yet another loan will send the wrong message and will mean spending money we don’t necessarily have to spend,

He may be 4th choice but so was Gomez at one point as too Jarrell, and we all know the longevity of the season ahead so the chances are high that we will indeed get valuable game time, he stays for me .

I had a quick look online and it appears his contract runs for another 2 seasons. I'd prefer to keep him at the club for this season and see if he's good enough.

Next summer we'll have an option to extend his contract if he has a future at the club or let him move on.
I think that he can get at least 20 games for us in FA cup, League cup, probably a few premier league and potentially Champions league. Obviously the number  of games depends on his performances and the other defenders form/fitness. I'm not to concerned about selling for the biggest price this summer.

However, if he is going to be very unhappy if we force him to stay there is no benefit in that and we might as well let him go.

Maybe we're not supposed to, he's an old school, no nonsense defender that goes about his business quietly. When I see him play I just think he defends pretty well for a guy his age. He's not one of those that's come from a rich youth academy, he's not one that's gone on loan to a fancy clubs that plays fancy football etc.

I would say not to create an image in your head of the perfect defender (or Virgil) and reflect it back on him and just take him on face value, what you see is what you get kinda thing.

Also lessens the chances of many HG players progressing at clubs. Surely clubs should be looking at producing its own talents rather then having to spend big to bring players in and then make up that money elsewhere to balance books

Uhm, maybe because guys like Joyce and Ornstein said we tried to get deals over the line for them and quelle surprise we've ended up with no one.
