Oh the joy of finding a dodgy stream for a preseason game!

LFC or LFCTV go is the best thing I pay for on TV . All the pre season games are live apparently

So no Arroyo (work permit I guess), Van Den Berg (FIFA) or Ejaria (maybe on his way somewhere).

I am most interested in seeing how AOC moves tonight, and Yasser Larouci and Adam Lewis at left back from the kids.

Some cracking play between the youngsters so far. Loving it.

Would have no problem with Clyne staying as back up

We had to use Henderson as RB at times last season when Joe was hurt, so yes, i would be fine if Clyne stays as backup. I believe he can also play LB as well?

Really like what I see from Yasser Larouci.

Brewster goal  Wilson assist.

Milner started it all. 2-0 Reds.

Even before that goal I had been most impressed with Brewster.  Distributes the ball well and decision making has been spot on.

Liked Brewster's quality in front of goal, and how he was involved in buildup player. He and Wilson look to have a decent understanding. Loved Brewster's reaction on scoring his first.

James Milner's leadership qualities with the young players is valuable, and of course he's fitter than everyone so that stands out.

Adam Lallana as a holding mid is intriguing. I wonder if we might see more of that.

Ox looked pretty rusty. Ryan Kent and Yasser Larouci both very active. Final ball from each will need to improve, but they were in dangerous positions. Center back and goalkeeper were anonymous in a good way.

One assist and two goals.  Couldn't have asked for a better 45 minutes to start the season for Brewster.

So, just like to clarify I'm not into our halfy half socks. 🧐

McAteer pointing out what I noticed too, the way Brewster started toward the goal before Milner hit the shot. Tranmere playere waved for offside but it was nowhere close. Just very instinctive. I know it's early and it's Tranmere , but that is a natural quality he has around goal. It is hard not to think of a young Michael Owen. OK. I'll calm down now...

First half thoughts

Most impressive— Brewster. Even before the goals his decision making and distribution was spot on

Least impressive—Clyne   Despite the goal I counted more mistakes from him than anyone else.

Kent is a bottle of energy

Larouci will have a bright future

Lallana looked good. But can he stay fit

Ox was a mixed bag

Wilson looked promising in the few chances he had considering most of the match was played down the opposite side of him.

Milly was Milly.  I’m starting to think me may be part alien.

Really like what I see from Yasser Larouci.

Could be the backup left back. Lewis out for the 2nd half to try and impress as well.

SIX goals you say?

Sub goalie Daniel Atherton on for striker Paul Glatzel for the last 10 minutes due to him taking a knock.

Still 6-0 (Clyne, Brewster (2), Curtis Jones, Captain Origi, Bobby Duncan)

GOt to say that take by Divok was one of the finest I have seen not a bad finish either. Forgot about Curtis Jones he looked good too.
Brewster definitely looks so much bigger than a year ago.. Nice way to spend an evening watching so many good young players get a taste of the big time.

Player of the half for me was Ki-Jana Hoever. He is NOT...FAR...OFF.

Nice to see Bobby Duncan score. Nice goal from Divock. Not so nice to see the Tranmere bodybuilder turned footballer take out Glatzel. Hope it isn't too serious but it didn't look too good. He brought Bobby down later as well.

Ben Woodburn played his role well and I hope to see him rebound from last season. Match got pretty ragged in the final 10 minutes but a useful night's  training exercise. Great to see the team in action again.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Adam Lewis seems to be the better crosser of the two left backs tonight.

was a good start, none of the fringe youngsters looked phased.hope the injury to glatzel isn't serious.old school Kid swarm on the pitch at the end!

ki jana hoever looks amazing

Good way to start pre-season. Pre-season or not, it's good to see the younger lads well among the goals and some well taken finishes.

It's a good start to the pre season,the lads including the youngsters seem hungry for success.

Yeah pal came on to say the same about Hoever. I onow it was only 45 mins in a friendly against Tranmere but thought he was very very good.

Good game, most of the young lads played very well.

Didn’t watch it (can’t be arsed with pre season) but good to hear that we bagged 6 and that the youngsters (especially Brewster and Hoever) made a good impression.
