Scotland just packed a player with goals. Would have taken that game no bother if they had that player. England were there for the taking. Aside from 5ge lack of a goal, Scotland superb!

Back when we had a leaky defence under Brendan, I was a big cheerleader for bringing back Steve Clarke as a defensive coach, and that is basically why. The guy is one of the best organisers in football. I don't mind Southgate as a manager (quite funny the knives out for him already, but that's England fans for you - fickle as F**k), but Clarke out-thought him tonight. Great effort, and good composure in possession, from Scotland's players as well, thoroughly deserved their point.

Awful from England. Utterly devoid of ideas and lacking in leadership, epitomised by Harry Kane. This time they actually do have a pretty good squad but Southgate is showing he is as hopeless and as uninspiring as the managers who have preceded him.

I am glad Scotland earned a deserved point and can still qualify with a result in the final group match. So says a half-Scot (Stirling). In many ways I feel this was a missed opportunity. What a pity there isn’t an Ally Mccoist spearheading the attack!
