On the same list as Shanks and Paisley, holding his own with pretty good company. Been a privilege to watch his teams win it all, on a shoe string budget against rivals with unlimited funds (add Real to the list with City). Devastated but he deserves to put his feet up and enjoy being a grandad. He only got a 4 month break before we hired him. Big shoes to fill. Wouldn’t be surprised if FSG sell up shop within the next 12 months.

Only one thing to be said in these sad, sad days for Liverpool F.C and it's Countless fans.

Danke, Jürgen, for all you have done for us. You need to have a well earned rest. Your health is more important than our great club, and if anyone deserves a break  it is you.

I'll set the  ball rolling, with a donation towards a statue, to the finest manager, we have ever had. Yes, I saw Mr Shankly and Uncle Bob, and, yes, you have risen above even those two geniuses.

Herr Klopp, a giant, and humorous  man, who will be remembered by the millions of Reds fans all over the world.
      😭

Once again, Danke. And good luck for the future.

F***ing horrible news to find out just as I was going to bed.

Didn't sleep a wink and am miserable.

      Now what? FFS

Please Jürgen change your mind and just take a year Sabbatical.

He wouldn't lie to us. A true Gentleman who will be sorely be missed but I have a feeling he's gonna miss us too, like crazy. Hopefully enough for him to change his mind, but I know I'm dreaming.

Wait till after the homecoming in May mate.

If people thought was 2019 was crazy, this one with a League Title is gonna be F***ing off the wall. We've waited over 30 years to celebrate our boys bringing the League Title home.

Once Jürgen sees that, he'll be changing his mind in an instant.

Important to note, as I'm sure Jürgen would want us to, the level of service and dedication that Lijnders and Kraweitz have given to Liverpool as well. A particular shout out to Kraweitz who doesn't get much recognition but has been by Jürgen's side forever at Liverpool and before. We'll miss that pair badly as well.

Against my will but now that he spoke about it, he  really seems to lack his usual energy. I would blame it on last year. Now since he saw that the team is back to his standards, he wants to go out on a high and knows that he doesn't have the energy if next season we will be like last year.

You earned the right to do what is best for you and you are leaving ua with a good foundation too.

Yes, he said it himself that FSG doesn't have the willingness to sack him if things goes south due to his importance and fans connection.

I finally worked up the courage to watch his Interview on LFCTV.

Was choking up for most of it, but absolutely burst into tears uncontrollably when he said he would never, ever Manage a Club in England other then Liverpool.  Just hit me like a tonne of bricks, we ain't gonna see this Beautiful human being be the Leader of this Club and this family, after the end of this season.

Shattered beyond words but after watching the Interview, I made a bit of peace with his decision.

He's earned the right to do whatever he wants in the future.

I see there is a fly on the wall documentary being made about this last season.

Should be interesting viewing whatever comes to pass.

Would be interested to know why Jürgen u-turned on it given he was so against something like this a few years ago.

Maybe he knew he was leaving when it was in the pipeline so he doesn’t give a F**k.
