We're in a bad run of form but I am sure Klopp will sort it out

He will sort it when players return from injuries and new players added to the squad...

Precisely why we are where we are, class players were acquired by way of sell to buy, that scenario has not been possible for some time.

We are forced to take bargain basement signings to replace world class players when necessary.

The owners will loan LFC monies for bricks and mortar - why not the same for what the club represents and does so f**king well as their market value shows.

They seem to somehow miss the point that quality personnel add to the value by creating success within the whole structure of the club. Now valued at what? 2bn plus? Yet can’t spare the funds for much needed squad depth that aren’t in the bargain bin sales. This season alone proves that quality costs, but is necessary if you want to stay competitive through a crisis such as a plethora of injuries...

Why does this falsehood still keep being posted ?

Which bargain basement player did we buy to replace world class players

Where would you like them to provide funds from considering the club runs on a self sufficent model

      Here is a stat

Liverpool have 6 players who have not spent more than three weeks injured this season.

      • Andy Robertson
      • Gini Wijnaldum
      • Roberto Firmino
      • Mo Salah
      • Sadio Mané
      • Curtis Jones

Two of those also had Covid

What sort of squad depth do you expect to have to cover the level of injuries we have had

Are you one of those that expects us to have the same level of squad players sat there waiting ? A bench full of £50mil players on high wages like City

Look at our current  bench and tell me it’s full of quality...

Next you’ll be telling us the owners make no money from their business and it’s all from the goodness of their hearts..

The “bench” as you call it is either playing week in week out or injured

Add in players like Jota , Matip with Gini , Jones , Keita on the Bench because you have Hendo , Fabinho , VVD , Gomez playing

Do people like you just ignore the level of injuries with the squad

Do you rent pocket space from JWH? Send him a valentines card?

It seems you fail to realise that we’ve had a couple of good seasons primarily down to a quality starting 11, Jürgens magical input and a massive dose of luck with injuries. You can’t rely on the latter to keep a team successful, as this season has proven with the frankly insane amount of injuries. That means investment is required, firstly to keep things fresh and secondly, to add quality to the non starting 11 for the seasonal domestic cup runs and when the injuries occur.

You seem to have disagreed with everything I’ve so far said, so I’ll assume you’ll continue in the same manner.

We will sign players in the Summer.

Even City wouldn't cope with the number of injuries we've sustained since October.

      It's a freak season. sh*t happens.

We will move on from it next season.

You know this how? Who are we selling to make these purchases? Without CL ( personally doubt we’ll make top 4 with the on field problems we have),  will our superstars want to hang around? Very uncertain time in my opinion.

Best manager in the world with 4 home defeats in a row. 😂 Not achieved since 1928!
I'm all for everybody saying what they want but come on.

Do you want a list of all the exceptional bits of excrements we got hit by so far in this exceptional sh*t storm we are in since the 3rd game of the season or so?

You also forgot to say first manager to win us a league on 30 years and by far the most exciting football we've played in those 30 years too (at least to my eyes that is)

Come on now. Read your post back and just reflect a bit on what this is implying.

This man been hit with the meanest sh*t storm (at least in relation to the small timeframe of it) I've seen hit a mangager in 25 years of watching football, his mom recently died, the owners did not back him with a decent amount of cbs, etc. Despite all that we are 5th and still very much in contention for top 4 and still in the CL with a leg into next round. Most people call sick when they get a mild cold

I am interested in the whole idea about our success coming mainly from our starting XI. Looking at our last two seasons (league only), in 2019-20, only 12 players started games in double digits,  numbering 38, 35, 35, 34, 34, 33, 31, 29, 26, 22, 22 and 17. Then 11 other players combined for 62 starts - 23 starters in all.

      In 2018-2019, 16 players started double digits, numbering 38, 38, 37, 36, 35, 32, 31, 27, 22, 22, 17, 16, 12, 11 and 11. Then 4 others combine for 24 starts - 20 starters in all.

This season 27 players have already started games in the league including 12 at 5 games or less. So we are definitely dipping into the squad deeper and more often and it's hard not to think this has a good deal to do with the difference in results.

couple of seasons ? Mate the past 4 years has been our best most consistent period in the league & Europe since the bloody 80s, get a grip. That success has been down to Jürgen, the players, the owners and the recruitment. They have all played theyre part, just becuase they havnt spend a billion quid on the 2nd bench, cos thats what we are into now, the bench at the weekend had lots of u23 lads there, not becuase of lack of investment, but becuase the whole fukin squad is injured. ;D

This season is a freak. Cant blame everything on the board, its just been a rotten run of luck in terms of Injuries.

For anyone interested in how the league starts break down over this season and the preceding two:

          Player             18-19.    19-20    20-21
      Virgil.                  38.          38.           5
      Gini.                     32.          35.          23
      Mo.                       37.          33.         22
      Robbo.               36.            34.          25
      Sadio.                 35.           31.         21
      Ali.                       38.          29.         21
      Trent.                  27.           35.         22
      Hendo.                 21.          26.         20
      Fabinho.              21.             22.        24
      Bobby.                  31.           34.         23

      Millie.                    19.           9.            7
      Naby.                   16.            9.           6
      Joe.                      12.            22.         6
      Matip.                   17.            8.            9

Considering we are only 2/3 through the league season, there's really only two players who have missed a significant number of games compared to last season.

started 2016 Europa Cup final, then..... Champions league final, runners up in league with a record points tally, champions league winners, premier league winners, super cup winners, world club winners.

The last time we had anything close to that consistency was rafa, we were pretty solid for a few years. Before that wonderful team 2001/2002.

So yeas I standby we have been pretty consistent and successful for 4 years.

This year is just a freak of nature with Injuries, especially in the one position CB.

I keep seeing he’s only 20, but take the first 10 seconds of yesterday’s game. Everton kick off and launch the ball forward, he’s got time and space to bring the ball down or he can let the ball run for a goal kick if he wants, very basic defending, but instead he shits himself and gives them a corner which was completely unnecessarily.

Age has nothing to do with things like that. Lovren was still making those sort of mistakes when he turned 30. Its just sh*te defending. There’s no explanation other than that.

That summed up the rest of his day because he had another half a dozen or so of those moments. The lad had a shocker. The same way he did for the last 15 minutes or so at Leicester.

I thought he played well against leipzig, I gave him motm in that game actually, but I think that was more because I was nervous about him going into that game after what I saw against Leicester. It was more relief that he didn’t make any major mistakes. I felt we gave him more protection in that game too whereas in the league games we were more dominant and took more risks, leaving spaces at the back which exposed kabak.

Mate you are probably spot on but let’s give the lad the benefit of the doubt, all players make mistakes, all players have f***in howlers, even Virgil isn’t immune to making the odd mistake, in the grand old scheme of things he wouldn’t normally be anywhere near starting but right now he’s all we got, and he’s still a kid, so he has a lot on his plate, give him time, he might be alright yanno’s,

Andy Roberton wasn’t exactly pulling up the trees when he first arrived, he was given time to get used to the system and get fit, this lad hasn’t had that luxury, let’s just wait and see how he develops?

          Player             18-19.    19-20    20-21
      Virgil.                  38.          38.           5
      Gini.                     32.          35.          23
      Mo.                       37.          33.         22
      Robbo.               36.            34.          25
      Sadio.                 35.           31.         21
      Ali.                       38.          29.         21
      Trent.                  27.           35.         22
      Hendo.                 21.          26.         20
      Fabinho.              21.             22.        24
      Bobby.                  31.           34.         23

      Millie.                    19.           9.            7
      Naby.                   16.            9.           6
      Joe.                      12.            22.         6
      Matip.                   17.            8.            9

Considering we are only 2/3 through the league season, there's really only two players who have missed a significant number of games compared to last season.

Its the constant changing though, particularly at the back.

How many times have the same 11 taken to the field in a row I wonder?

I disagree about most exciting football, I think that was Brendan's team, that was simply awesome as an attacking force, unfortunately with a sh*t defence.

I agree there has been strong headwind this season, but even so we should be better, and playing exactly the same people with exactly the same tactics and formation is not impressive or the solution.
