New season starts in 17 days apparently, let's hope we can go one place better this term.

Only an image of the 1st days game, as it's far simpler than typing.

Come on the Hammers, could actually be a tricky game for Citeh, mind you so could Norwich for us, they romped the championship last season so we shouldn't take them to lightly.

City look stronger this year again. 120 million spent on 2 signings. Adding real quality to squad already full of quality.

Not signings they needed, but doing them regardless.

Not signings they needed? Fernandinho is 33 years old. Gundogan is decent, but he's not all that playing as the deepest lying midfielder, certainly not against top 6 teams and Rodri has looked pretty average so far (obviously getting used to the pace of the BPL). They needed that signing pretty badly.

Then they got Cancelo, who can't really play both full-back positions and traded Danilo for him who could to a certain extent. They also lost Delph who could cover at LB and are still playing a midfielder at LB who got run ragged by Salah in the community shield.

Then they lost Kompany and only have three senior CB's: Laporte who is great, Stones who is average and a liability and Otamendi who is also a liability. If they lose Laporte for an extended period of time, they are down to playing a CB duo of Stones and Otamendi with Walker and Zinchenko as full backs and only Fernandinho being able to cover at CB too.

They may have plenty of options up front, but with Sane gone for 6-7 months that's not looking as good either.

Their defence still is a huge weakness. If only teams would attack them a bit more.

What scares me is the lack of rust in city compared to us, they look sharp instantly, full of running right to the final whistle.

Theyve won the league with 198 points over 2 seasons. Without those 2 signings they're competing with us for the title.

They strengthened from a position of strength.

I think it's our squad with the gaps in depth.

Not sure what their game is at left back I'll give you that one!

You really need to stop this obsession with my posts, I should be flattered but I'm finding it a bit creepy now.

If you want to stick your head in the sand and think all is good then good for you but some of us are able to look at oppositions and be impressed. worried, scared etc.  All I did was point out that City have hit the ground running far more than we have, they looked like a well oiled machine today whereas we were really quite sloppy yesterday. Does that mean we have no chance of beating them, No of course not, just that I suspect it will be very very tight again as they look every bit as good and hungry as last year.

That there is the classic example of the difference in City and us.

They are ruthless. They not only want to win, but to destroy. Meanwhile, our boys got carried away with 4-0 and messed around for 45 minutes and conceded a cheap goal.

Don't think anyone is sticking their head in the sand about how good city are. We are pretty good too and we can't control what other teams do until we play them.

But they scored 1 more goal... One of which was a penalty that had to be re-taken (the first was missed by the way).

You are aware we were trying to score more goals right and that we went into half time 4-0 up?! City went into the break at 1-0, West Ham just gave up at the end and made it easy for City to add more goals. We had one put on to the bar, Salah put one just wide, there was the Firmino miss, we were searching for the 5th, 6th goals but just didn't have the luck.
Yes we conceded a cheap goal but City very nearly done the same and just got lucky Hernandez' effort was straight at Ederson, either side and it's a goal.

      You're talking sh*t.

West Ham were awful worse than Norwich last night.

Man City won comfortably playing 100% we won comfortably playing 60%.

How about supporting your club after a comfortable first win of the season?

Damn this mentality is sad. This mentality leads to failure.

You've just justified us playing at 60% whilst acknowledging that City played at 100%.

If we want to win the PL, we need to be top. That means we need to better our rival i.e. City. So far we've played two games, and they've bettered us twice. We drew the Charity Shield, but they took home the trophy. We beat Norwich and went top, but they just bettered our result and knocked us off the top spot.

Don't you get it? This mentality is why we failed last time. When we were comfortably ahead, but then played at 60% and justified points despite City playing better and closing the gap.

Talk about supporting the club.. I support the club to win the league and to better our rivals . A 60% mentality will not achieve success.

The thing about city is that they are brilliant against weaker teams. They get rattled if somebody try to push them hard.
