Chelsea started really well, unlucky to have gone 2-1 down, a deflected goal from KDB, then a good run and hit from Mahrez.
But then they did nothin really 2nd half, planky Abraham up front didn't get a sniff.
Didn't think City were all that great, but created more chances and did enough to get the 3 points.
Would've preferred a draw, but at least that'll keep the Chavs fans quiet for a while, bubble nicely burst.
Pretty entertaining first half. Chelsea on top of the world at 1-0, playing it around confidently and then one shoddy pass from Jorginho (I think) and bang, it's 1-1. Bubble burst and then it's another one for City. Match lost. City clearly showed greater wisdom and experience in that time.
Chelsea could so easily have got some kind of result here had they shown a bit more experience and awareness. Far too many individual errors and it somewhat reminds me of our defeat to City back on Boxing Day in 2013 which we lost 2-1 (the winning goal coming from an inexplicably dire piece of goalkeeping from Mignolet - I recall a fairly tame shot at 2mph reducing his attempt of a palm to a pitiful flop of the hand).
Both sides exposing many holes in each others defences. The subbing of Abraham for Batuayshi pretty much killed any chance of an equaliser for Chelsea. To say Batuayshi was poor when he came on would be an understatement!
I've got to say though, the second half was scrappy and poor from both teams. Thought the potential was there for a thriller but it fizzled away with an impotent second half with misplaced balls all over the shop that was then topped off with a dire bit of goalkeeping from Kepa. Both teams need to play to a higher level if they are to win the league.
Oh yeah, and Pep seems to have a problem keeping his players fit. Silva, Rodri and Aguero all subbed off for injuries.
