      City
      1st XI
                          Ederson

      Walker     Stones   LaPorte     Zinchenko

      De Bruyne       Fenrnandinho    D.Silva

      B.Silva            Aguero             Sterling

      2nd XI
                           Bravo

      Danilo       Mendy      Mangala     Otamendi

      Gundogan         Rodri            Foden

      Mahrez             Jesus             Sane

Defensively their second Xi is a bit average but in all other areas its outstanding, especially in attack.

Don't think it changes the Premier League or Champions League, where we are close in strength. Perhaps they are better equipped up front  to succeed in the League Cup.

Our 1st XI's are more or less the same in strength but in terms of second XI they clearly have more established and quality players in attack.that gives them more resiliency and the ability to compete on all fronts.

But we WON the Champions League and we're just a point.behind in the Premier League. The only change is if Rodri raises their game significantly, and our players returning from absence do nothing for us, otherwise I expect us to be neck and neck again.

Interesting article with stats about how much we would need to spend to keep up with Man City - over £100m per season net spend!

When you look at how much they spend in relation even to the other top clubs it is pretty stark.

FFP needs to reign them in - if it hadn’t been for us last season we would be looking at a vastly more expensive version of the Scottish league

      From the article;

So if Klopp believes he can nurture Origi, Brewster or Wilson into a elite goalscorer, who are we to argue, given his track-record?

Fingers crossed Wilson is still one of our players come the end of August but, yes, that does seem to be the plan alright and like the article says, Klopp does have a good track record

£100m net spend is something that is easily done, we earned over 90m from the CL alone.

If this is what it takes then we can do it.

Think we would get at that team with Otamendi left back and Mendy centre half!

Think you’ll find it’s a lot more than £90m, the brand and all round credibility of LFC will increase as will the associated revenue pouring into the club’s coffers - to say nothing of automatic qualification into next season’s CL and the associated gate revenue.

Still there seems a reluctance to turn LFC into a powerhouse of European football with sell to buy and loaning out policies being the priority.

and they won the league, league cup and fa cup whereas we crashed out at the first round of both the fa cup and league cup, ie they have a hell of lot more depth in the squad than we do. Also we were very lucky in terms of injuries last season, we can't bank on that again this season.

To be honest I wasn't quite sure which of the City defenders were CB's and which were FB's, I just picked the ones I'd heard of most. Citeh are actually lacking in depth defensively which is quite surprising, its the one area where we have more depth.

I'm referring to injuries to our forwards, in defence it was a bloody nightmare at one stage in the new year

Well there was a point to make up?  so not sure.  If it is overall then no chance they have a massive squad of quality which has never been bettered!

1 point that's all were behind City 1 point. Every year Jürgen has improved this club since he has been here and we have also been in 4 finals winning the big one this year. Who wouldn't want to have more quality in the squad regardless of cost but this man has done more than enough to earn our trust. If it was funds he needed the owners would not dare deny him £70mil in net spend since he has been here is incredible transfer dealings.
What bothers me is the people demanding £100mil transfers are going to be complaining like f**k when we lose or draw a game they will be insufferable .

I was hoping someone pointed out it was just 1 point, and arguably that point was just 10mm away from being 1 point in our favour. ;D

Everything you say here is correct BTW.  :gt-happyup:

Bobby missed about 3 games I think and Mo only the Barca game or possibly there was one more, but certainly not a lot of games missed by our main forwards.

You will find he missed a lot more as did Mo hence why Shaqiri and Origi started a good number of games.

The CL final win is more beneficial financially and status wise mate, winning the Prem is more important in the context of shutting those mouthy bas**rds up down the M62.
