Thankfully he is a young lad and hopefully can recover quickly - hopefully it’s just a dislocation or a clean break

Won’t just be a dislocation, his foot was dangling so it’s definitely a break. But he could be lucky, Andre Gomes had an open fracture with dislocation and was back playing within about 3 months wasn’t he? A lot of his recovery will depend on whether there is any ligament damage too.

Yes - hopefully it’s a clean break and there is no issues in regards the blood flow ( hence why they take the boot of straight away )

Klopp just said the ankle was dislocated and has been put back into place. Perhaps he will be lucky and that is the only issue.

If there is no break and the ankle is back in with no issues then it will hopefully just be what issues there are with the ligaments

Would be a relief if it's not a break, though still setback for him. Young lad, so hopefully he heals up quick and is back before too long.

Hate to speculate, so just hope that recovery goes well and they take their time bringing him back so he can hopefully play at a high level again. So much potential would hate to see him never get a chance to realize it.

He wasn’t in too much pain and seems like it’s not a break so sounds positive in the situation. He’s young so recovery time will be so much quicker.

Thought it looked worse at first sight tbh

He requires a surgery confirmed by official website.

Yup in a few days once the swelling subsides.

Fingers crossed the surgery goes smoothly and we see him back on the field before the season ends.

      Urk.
Have never dislocated a shoulder or ankle, wasn't expecting he'd need surgery.

Know googling health sh*t is generally not a good idea but...

"While a cast, or splint, may be recommended to minimize movement of the injured region, a dislocated ankle cannot heal itself in a cast and surgical help is often required once the swelling subsides. Typically a 3-4 hour surgery, the procedure includes realigning the dislocated bones in their proper place and then fixing the broken bone fragments with the help of screws, pins or plates. Often the torn ligaments and tendons are repaired with suture."

Suppose everyone's different, recovery times will vary, and he's young and fit.

The most important thing is the player's well-being, but from what I saw and the subsequent news about needing surgery, I'd say we're looking at mid-March at the earliest (and of course I'm speculating on the duration of injury).

I think this hurts our team this season as he has been a revelation in terms of both energy and quality. I don't think we have anyone else like him just now.

Best wishes to Harvey to recover and have a strong career, whenever he is able to get back.
