At least Carson is a homegrown player and gives City some flexibility in that regard.

I think this season we have a few that will be moving into the spots - losing Kelleher will need to add one in there

This lad must be loved in the dressing room.

For somebody who plays so little, he doesn't half milk the celebrations of our victories. And everyone seems so happy for him to do so.

3rd choice keeper must be the best job in the world.

Sounds like he's been offered a new contract. I know a lot of people on here won't like it, but I'm for it. In a year full of changes, I like keeping him on during the transition. He's vital to the locker room and a big brother to all the Spanish kids

Pointless unless hes becoming a future goalkeeping coach. No harm to the lad

This, certainly comes across that way and I’d assume he might be looking at badges to be fair like Brian alluded to.

Maybe Kelleher is going so need a bit of continuity. Many components to a successful team maybe he is a piece of the jigsaw

Mad that it looks like we will continue to waste a non-homegrown slot on him.

I posted this in the NESV thread, but I'll post it here too...

I've no problem with Adrian per se, as he's been decentish when called upon, but....
I just don't understand having a non-homegrown player as the 3rd choice keeper. It's a wasted space for a foreigner....

Probably seen as a simple and fairly safe continuity option given the changes afoot. I reckon the club will have accounted for it when considering the homegrown quota (not that I can be arsed to look as it seems to change a lot).

Swap him with your lot for Onana. With £20m our way too, of course....

It doesn’t waste a Non HG just like it hasn’t for years.

I really hope he is not the 2nd keeper. If kelleher is sold, we need to buy much better than Adrian.

I am happy if he's the 3rd keeper.

He should have been sold at least 2 years ago. There's a reason no other club ever renewed his contract. Nice guy, and he saved us because we had no one else, but he's simply not good enough. And if he plays, he's a liability we don't need. I'll never forget his disasterclass against Athletico Madrid.

      Sold to who ?

He is 3rd choice GK and played a grand total of

Zero games in the last 3 years

And yep he had a bad game against Atletico - did too forget the 8 clean sheets when he was part of the team that won the league

Sure he played his part when Alisson was injured but it does not mean he's good enough. ManCity and Arsenal have shown how important it is to have reliable backup GKs. If Kelleher goes, I would be worried to have Adrian as 2nd choice. This scenario is likely at the moment, right?

And btw, there are many players who helped us win titles, but if they are not good enough, they should go, like Minamino and Origi who were instrumental in helping us two cups before they left.

Yes, by sold, I meant, he should be released. No club in the top leagues would buy Adrian. Again, no other club renewed his contract once.

Man City have Scott Carson as 3rd choice

      Adrian will be 3rd choice

He is there for a reason - the same as Carson is at City

Both have played 0 games over the last 3 years

Why release him when he is there on a cheap contract for a reason

Who are you expecting to bring in for 3rd choice

He's off to R. Betis. We can't lose Kelleher as well if Slot haven't got someone in mind.

      Adrian's gonna be a player/coach there.
