Fingers crossed as our players complete their international commitments. with Napoli to follow midweek there will be some thought of squad rotation. You have Robbo going a 2nd 90 for Scotland tonight, along with Virgil and Gini for Holland. Also wonder about the English players tomorrow .

I expect no more than two changes and maybe none. I also expect us to win. Mainly just glad we are back to Liverpool football.

Fookin international breaks suck! although they are little easier to bare when your sitting on top of the league with maximum points :-)

As for the game, I think we might see a little bit of rotation but I think it will mostly be in the midfield and perhaps Gomez and Matip will split games. I think the rest of them will be the same for both matches.

I hate these international breaks and as I have stated before it's about time the clubs took back control of the players. It should be up to the club if they want to release a player for international duty (like it used to be).
Back to Newcastle I think we will start seeing some rotation of players  but whatever squad we play expect us to win comfortably.GO THE REDS.

Brazil plays late Wednesday night UK time. Bobby played most of the game on Thursday so if he plays again he may be a strong candidate to be left out Saturday morning. The Brazil game is a friendly so they really should leave him out for the Wednesday game but I doubt they will. Fabinho might play in that as well.

A win by a minimum of two clear goals, the way our strikers are performing. It could well end up 3 1, or more for the Red men.

I'm not sure I'd go that far but there is definitely a case against having international friendlies within the season.

Qualifiers I can just about get through with gritted teeth but the only time countries should be playing friendlies is in the immediate build up to a tournament or if they do not qualify for a major tournament.

Let’s not underestimate Newcastle - look what they did to spurs in their own back yard.

An early goal will be vital.

I was just stating how it used to be JD,and from the clubs having total control we had the situation of the clubs having to produce a medical certificate to say a player was not fit for international duty.Needless to say clubs used the medical certificate situation to their advantage and who could blame them.I might add we had nowhere near the number of internationals then that we have today.

Can you imagine a club refusing a player to play for his country, would be one hell of a brave decision if the player was fully fit, the backlash would be enormous.

Never under estimate anyone but Newcastle at Anfield, have they ever beaten us or even drawn? If we don't win by a fairly comfortable margin then I'll be a bit disappointed.

Early kick off after the International break can be tricky. But we are at home.

They will sit in and look to frustrate us so patience will be key.

      Same team as Burnley.

      Usually a comfortable win, this.

Can see us keeping a clean sheet here, but these made life very difficult for Spurs.  Well organised in defence, with 5 at the back & 3-4 in front of the back 5 every time Spurs got into the final 3rd, so could be difficult to break down.

An early goal opens them up, but could be a frustrating game until that first goal.

Expect us to get that goal late in the first half, wrapping it up with a couple in the second for 3-0 win.

Didn't watch Newcastle beating Spurs so can't comment whether Newcastle did well or Spurs did sh*te.

Think we'll have way too much for them but this has clearly been a tricky game for us down the years even with our current impressive squad.

After an international break I'll take any victory we can manage. Get this one out of the way and then we are really in to the season with some tough fixtures ahead of us.

Get ourselves 3-0 up at half time though and begin the Steve Bruce big fat head chants, I'll be happy ;D.

Bruce reverted back to Rafa’s tight tactics and it worked a treat. Newcastle played well and if the game went on for another 3 hours Spurs still wouldn’t have scored

Official site had a video of training from yesterday, 10 U23 players and 6 senior squad. Mo and Sadio were next to each other in line but the video did not feature them in a tearful embrace of reconciliation.  ;D Actually I didn't even see any eye contact. Awkward!!! :-)

But they can go home and make voodoo dolls of each other for all I care - just so they keep banging in goals!

The two top threads on The Kop are to do with two complete tw*ts I loathe and detest.

      One is Owen.

      The other is Steve Bruce.

I'll never forget his bragging and repeating how "we rolled the mighty Liverpool over" when we lost a game to Hull a few years back.
      An arrogant b***ard.

With apologies to the poor Geordies who have to put up with this sh*t every year .

      5-0

If he plays his 3-5-2  like Spurs  ...... he forgets Andy and Trent can get round the back.
      We'll unlock them.

      Bruce = B***ard.

      Win Rate ....... 38.4% .

I get it about the Brazilians, but Henderson and Trent must be in some question as well. Could definitely see Gomez at right back and a midfield three of Milner, Ox and Gini - but then Gini played two matches as well....hmmm. Maybe Gini and Hendo split this match at #6. Maybe Lallana could feature. Or maybe Klopp names an unchanged team.

Looking forward to seeing Liverpool back in action and the games will be coming in fast with 7 matches in next three weeks so should get to see a few of the squad players get minutes and show if they are up for it.

As for this game it is nice to have Mane and Salah rested and I would have to think manager will consider player who were out on international duty plus two tough away matches vs Napoli and Chelsea coming up so might need likes of Milner, Ox and Shaqiri  to step up.

I would think line-up will be

      ---------------Adrian----------------
      TAA------Matip----VvD------Robbo
      ----Milner-----Gini-----Ox----------
      ----Salah------Origi---------Mane-

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Fabinho, Hendo, Lallana, Shaqiri, Firmino

Can defo see Klopp starting with guys like Milner & Shaq, talk on LFCTV that he might even play milner at LB to give robbo a much needed rest.

Mane & Salah will be right up for this, they have had a mini break and good training sessions while the rest have been away with countries.

I was referring more to if they could do it now with all the player power, social media etc.  I agree about the rotation for this match but we should have more than enough quality for Newcastle who I presume will also have a jet lagged striker.

I checked back and in the last 12 seasons we've only drawn with them twice, the rest have all been comfortable wins, I expect the same on Saturday, a comfortably 3-0 win.

I checked back and in the last 12 seasons we've only drawn with them twice, the rest have all been comfortable wins, I expect the same on Saturday, a comfortably 3-0 win.

Well let's hope nothing changes then mate.

Like you say, it will hopefully be comfortable and then Jürgen can think about making some early subs.

Can defo see Klopp starting with guys like Milner & Shaq, talk on LFCTV that he might even play milner at LB to give robbo a much needed rest.

Mane & Salah will be right up for this, they have had a mini break and good training sessions while the rest have been away with countries.

He might rest a forward, but it would be Origi to come in, not Shaqiri.

Shaq stayed behind on international week so as too push his chances of a start, showed great commitment. I really think Klopp will reward him with a start.

Origi has been away with Belgium, but not played much, so he might start too.

Firmino, Gini & hendo to be rested maybe.

I guess we'll find out. Mane and Salah both start of course and I still think Divock is ahead of Shaq in the reckoning for selection.  I noticed Fabinho only played 30 minutes total in the two matches so he should be OK to play which is a big plus. I'm guessing it will  be Milner and Ox with him in midfield.  Both fullback slots will be interesting calls.

Will it? Trent only played the 1 game so for him it's not much different to any other midweek game.

Don't think there is cause for such concern over who will or wont be starting at this stage, we are 4 games into the new season with a week break in between our last couple of games. Maybe around March time if there is International games then I can understand there being issues and question marks over who plays but not this early into the season. I'd be very surprised if it's any different to our usual line ups. Think the only question mark is over who will play in midfield along with Fab, but that's no different to any other game. That said, I expect Milner will start as I can't really see him playing much/if any of the Chelsea and Napoli games that follow, going by his poor early season form.

My guess would be Fab, Milner and Gini. Gini will be on a high and full of confidence after his recent goal scoring exploits for Holland.

People tend to read too much into what our line up will be after an international break but it rarely differs to any other game.

Wouldn't be a bad idea if Shag or Lallana got a start or even Origi. Looks like players have come back free from new injuries. At the same time we can't take 3 points for granted.Boss might think we need to be sure we keep the great start going and elect to play his strongest starting 11.

      3 or 4-0..something like that..

Indeed mate. As always it will depend on how the international boys feel and what fitness staff advise.

But I think if there was ever a game, to rotate a few players its this one, but he also might just go strong, get game won, then make early subs 2nd half.

Think we'll see a wholesale change in the midfield and might go all-English with Lallana as the #6. Expect Hendo, Gini, Bobby & Fab to be rested and Origi to come in. Or may be, Fab starts cos he had only 30 mins and Lallana comes in to have a feel of the #6 role. Feel Gomez might start in Naples, so going with Trent here. Will Shaq or Lovren start? Excited to see the Ox-Mo linkup!!

      Mane-Origi-Salah
      Milner-Lallana-Ox
      Robbo-Virgil-Matip-Trent
      Adrian

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Fab, Gini, Hendo, Shaq, Firmino

People sometimes forget that rotation can be used to allow first choice selection for games.FOLLOWING the match in question. We will want the top players for Napoli and Chelsea. Playing twice in 4-5 days much preferred to thrice in 7-8 days.

On paper yes. But do you think they won’t be fired up for this ?

Match ball head will likely go 5-4-1 or 4-5-1 and route 1.
We will need an early break through to lift the pressure. Could be a right old battle.
I’ve gone for 3:1 but after internationals, and early ko who knows how easy/difficult it can be.

No doubt Toon will come equipped with the double decker and park it across the pen box, and hope the can latch onto a long haul missile hoofed from the rear, cos that's their only hope of any sort of reward from this match,

We are gearing towards a level of football even higher than that of last season,  a level most can only dream of,
Newcastle are simply our next victims and although not easy I still believe we will win this with relative comfort,  psychologically their players know deep down they won't be winning this game, whereas our lads are brimming with confidence,  unbeaten in 13 matches, unbeaten for over two and a half years at fortress Anfield, backed by a fantastic home crowd, no brainer for me....

                               Adrian
               Trent Matip VvD Robertson
                                Fabinho
                    Henderson     Oxlade
                  Salah       Firmino      Mane

Can't see anything other than a convincing victory for the Redmen.
