Pre-Match: Liverpool v RB Salzburg Weds 2nd Oct 20:00 KO
      Sep 29, 2019 11:40:28 am
Feels an eternity since we last had a home game.

We face Salzburg who won there first group game against Genk 6-2, young striker Haland scoring a hat-trick.

Think we need to rotate a bit especially with a tough game against Leicester coming up at the weekend.

      I’d go with:

      Adrian

      Alexander-Arnold
      Gomez
      Van Dijk
      Robertson

      Oxlade-Chamberlain
      Fabinho
      Milner (c)

      Salah
      Firmino
      Origi

      Subs:

      Kelleher
      Matip
      Henderson
      Wijnaldum
      Keita
      Lallana
      Mane

I think Mane needs a rest he looks slightly off at the moment, Origi was electric when he came on against Sheffield United and I think he can cause Salzburg problems.

      I don’t think we will have a problem here, I’m saying 4-0 - Firmino x2, Salah and a Milner pen ⚽️

I'd rather rest Salah and play Origi or perhaps even young Elliott.

I’d go this except maybe Firmino for Mane/Salah. Hopefully Keita is in contention as well and doesn’t have another knock.

If not Firmino, I would rest Mane because of long Summer.

After the game midweek you didn't think Elliott was "anywhere close to being a first team player" dude?

I actually think he will play some first team games (other than the domestic Cups) but I think it's more likely to happen 2nd half of the season and more likely from the bench than the start.

I'd like to see either of Keita or Ox playing from the start in this one. We lack that little bit of creativity from midfield and have been relying on Matip to drive with the ball and commit defenders which isn't ideal.

      Just win

Start hard and fast, get a few goals, then take the big hitters off from 60 when the game is already beyond them

Nah, just extremely puzzled that people still push this old chestnut of a lazy trope, given the amount of goals we've scored under Klopp using this system.

It just never seems to sink in for some.

Gave the team a free pass on that first game v Napoli.

But this is a must win.  Fail to win this one and there's not only a very real chance that RB are getting past 9/10 points in this group, but it's going to require a lot more focus in the build up to Winter.

Fully expect us to win, just hope the players don't think the same before they kick off.

I'm fairly confident we'll win this, but I agree that if we draw or lose it we face an uphill challenge.

This is a much win match, anything less then 3 points is unacceptable and will make things very difficult. We should be about 3 or 4 changes to the side on the weekend to give rest to a couple players and minutes to squad player who need them.

Line-up I would like to see

      -----------------Adrian-----------------
      TAA------Matip-------VvD-------Milner
      ------Ox-------Fabinho----Gini---------
      -----Origi------Firmino----Mane-------

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Robbo, Lallana, Ketia, Hendo, Salah

Should win game really. Minimum we should take from the games against these is 4 points. Take 6 from Genk and we'll be through before Napoli who we owe a smashing any how.

We are tending to rely on home wins to get us thru the group stage. Not a deliberate ploy obviously but we will have to win this one to get some points.

Team wise bit more positivity, bit more urgency.Being at home should provide the impetus. Salah could do with a good performance, looking a bit off blob lately.

I like the Spanish comms, and the TNT pregame crew are just cringeworthy.

I suppose Jürgen freshens a midfield slot or two but I'm not certain of that. Don't be shocked with the same XI.
