Klopp switches to 3 at the back at times during games (usually the latter part). I think we're very unlikely to see it from the start though (can't recall that he ever has?). It would compromise the way Klopp likes to set up his front three. On paper you would end up with Salah and Mane as your centre-forwards and Firmino in the 10 position or as an advanced midfielder.

However, Gomez is well suited as the right CB in a 3 because he is comfortable playing in space given his experience at full-back. He has played that role with some success early in his England career (when Southgate first came in) but like I say, it seems unlikely given Klopp's penchant for 4-3-3.

As TAA seems to attack so much, and leaves the right back position exposed,  it might be an idea to move TAA into right midfield, and put Joe Gomez as the third centre back.

Are you talking about a permanent switch to a back 3 or just an occasional/situational thing? The issue we might have is the numbers in midfield. Klopp trusts Matip & Van Dijk to defend 2v2 which means we're able to create something like:

      Matip  -   -  Van Dijk

      Trent -   -   -   - Fabinho -   -   -   - Robertson

      Henderson  - Wijnaldum

      Firmino

      Salah -   -   -   -   -   - Mane

Or sometimes it looks like a flat 2-5-3...

      Matip  -   -  Van Dijk

      Trent - Henderson - Fabinho - Wijnaldum - Robertson

      Salah - Firmino - Mane

If we go to a back 3 then which midfielder gets taken out to accommodate the third centre back and do holes then appear through the middle of midfield? Perhaps this is an argument for 'exposed through the middle vs exposed out wide'? We could get away with playing it on the odd occasion but not regularly because we have a big group of midfielders and four centre backs, three of which are prone to injuries.

Gomez was horrible. So many mistakes and silly fouls.

TAA isnt bombing forwards by accident, it's quite simply the way we play.

Red Bull this, Red Bull that? Don't need that.

But the worst thing is probably the hijacking of local identity for corporate means. The beauty of club football is that clubs should all stem from the roots of thousands/millions of separate communities across the world and in turn reflect the best values of these communities.

They exist to sell a soft drink, and they're never short of money. Their owner runs a F1 team in his spare time. In Germany, they can't officially be called Red Bull Leipzig, so they find a similar sounding name to get around it. As with City's owners, they run a chain of football clubs in Europe and beyond. In this case, just to sell a soft drink.

The house that Virgil built last year just isn’t as solid at its foundations right now..

A lot of that has to do with the fact the foundation has been missing it's biggest brick for some time. Alisson stops the third goal imo, as he would have the awareness to stop the cross coming in.

We switched off after the third. It's not the first time this season, it won't be the last time. Just thank whoever it is you thank, that it happened when we could do something about it, and not against Barcelona. It's another reminder that we still have a lot of work to do, to get out of the group.

Phew from coasting to bricking it to going berserk when Salah scored the 4th.

What a night of mixed emotions. So happy we didn't F**k that up and drop points. All changed for the better when Milner came on. He just took control and settled us and that's why i gave him my MOTM.

As for that 1st goal of theirs, where they took that quick free kick, the free kick happened 5 meters behind that. c**t Ref never called that one back!!!!

Tbh I actually enjoyed the match. We were boss first half, got complacent and they threw everything including the kitchen sink at us and made it a good game.
