      Pre-Match: Genk v Liverpool Weds 23rd October 20:00 KO
      Oct 22, 2019 03:33:38 pm
Looks like Salah’s fit, but Trent and Matip missed training today, I will choose my team going by them not being able to play.

Shaqiri seems to be out indefinitely which is a shame cos he could make an impact in games like this one.

Klopp’s press conference is tonight, so hopefully he has good news regarding Trent and Matip.

      Alisson

      Gomez
      Lovren
      Van Dijk
      Robertson

      Milner (c)
      Fabinho
      Keita

      Salah
      Firmino
      Mane

      Subs:

      Adrian
      Van Den Berg
      Henderson
      Wijnaldum
      Oxlade-Chamberlain
      Lallana
      Origi

Would be good to see a few of the fringe players get some game time, especially Keita and lets hope Salah shows no ill effects from that shocking challenge from Choudury.

Don’t think we will have a problem here, can see us winning 2-0 ⚽️

EDIT: Just see on official site that Trent (virus) and Joel (knee) did not make the trip to Belgium.

If Trent is out I'd rather see Milner at right back then Gomez, for the sake of crossing quality. I expect the same midfield our regular front three unless Salah needs to start on the bench due to his injury. I'm sure Jürgen would like to get Divock into this game in Belgium.

Got to give Ox a start. He did his knee in the C/L semi final against Roma on 18 April 2018 and missed most of 2018-19. Just when he was getting into his stride. I'd love to see Nabby given a go as well but maybe go with Fabinho,Gini and Alex Ox.

No that would be a knock back to Gomez. One bad game against Salzburg can't hold him back. So if Trent is crocked Joe Gomez comes in. Might have picked him anyway.

I'm hoping to see Klopp change things up a bit for this match.  Not because our usual lineup isn't working, but because I think we could benefit from having more than 1 "go-to" formation and tactical plan.  We would also benefit from getting 1 or 2 of Lallana, Keita, Chambo, or Shaq playing to the peak of their ability.  Personally, I'd like to see a 4-2-2-2 as I think it makes the best use of the resources we currently have.  The double pivot provides plenty of cover for our CB's and the narrow midfield provides acres of space for our fullbacks to exploit.

Playing 2 forwards would allow us to rest 1 of the usual front 3.  It would also seem to suit Origi as I don't find him to be as effective when positioned on the wing.

Playing a double pivot would allow Klopp to rest 1 of Gini, Hendo, or Fab on occasion.

The 2 CAM positions would provide Keita, Ox, Lallana, and/or Shaq the opportunity to play themselves into form.

We are about to enter an incredibly busy couple of months and will need to rotate effectively without compromising performance or results.  I think the 2 games against Genk, the League Cup match against Arsenal, and the return fixture against Salzburg provide good opportunities to experiment.

      Alisson
      Gomez - Lovren - VVD - Robbo
      Fab - Gini
      Chambo - Keita
      Mane - Firmino

      * Edited per Fatty's comment.  Gomez to RB and Dej in at CB

Fabinho and Gini need to be omitted for this and freshen the Midfield up try new combos and some minutes for Naby , Ox and Adam . Hendo to play the 6 but I'm afraid would possibly rest him for Spurs

Trent is on the sick, has to see the M.O. in the morning, get a couple of codeine, and Joel banged his knee on the fridge so they have been left behind. As well as the usual mob Brewster and Kelleher travel.

      Think could see

      Alisson
      Gomez, Lovren, Virgil, Robbo
      Fab, Keita, Milner/Ox
      Lallana, Firmino, Mane

Salah likely to come on at some point in the 2nd half IMO. Lallana could be given a chance to start thanks to his goal.

I think the Back 4 picks itself given the status of Matip and Trent. Will be interesting to see the midfield three. I would predict Milner, Fab and either of Ox/Keita to get the nod. Personally i'd like to see them both in the line-up. Up front I think Salah will start myself.

      My line-up would be:

                                            Alisson

        Gomez             Lovren                  VVD          Robertson

                                          Fabinho
                        Ox                                    Keita

                Salah                                             Mane
                                         Firmino

Could just as easily see Milner starting this one but equally, if we are looking good for the win for 20 to play I'd use Milner off the bench to spell Robertson. Ditto for Lallana in place of Salah.

This is their way to get some money from fans of a well-supported team. That can't do it for the knockout rounds or against a team like Napoli. I'd be interested to know how many people buy this game compared to others over the group stage. NBC Gold does the same for some of the 10 a.m. Saturday games when we player lower teams.

I bet our games get more purchases than any other for either package.

      I expect this vs. Genk:

      Milner, Lovren, Virgil, Robbo
      Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum
      Mane, Bobby, Origi
Subs: Adrian, Gomez, Lallana, Ox, Keita, Salah, Brewster

Never heard of Genk, until this season. Although surely a comfortable win for the Reds, by 3 or 4 goals.
