      Well, that was F***ing nuts.

Divock Origi, not good enough according to some, and yet he scores vital goals.

He brings something a bit different, is only 24, and will only get better.

Thought the young lads did a great job tonight.
Never let their heads go down, carried on pushing, and lets face it, they were let down a bit by the senior players.

Still, 11 on a team and they all put the effort in, including subs.

Cracking game, and really chuffed for the younger lads.

Origi isn't good enough but he does score some very important goals for us and yes I realise that seems contradictory.
I was absolutely pissed off at 4-2 down but was very impressed at the fight back from the lads, it was a fun game to watch.

Tonight I witnessed a young Liverpool fan in the making ,
Went to my dads as usual to watch the game with him
When we were 3 1 down my nephew come in with his girlfriend, she’s never watched a game with us , I scared the girl half to death when I went up in the air off Ox,s goal , by the time it got to Origi,s leveller , she was right into it saying now she understands  why my nephew and I are like we are ,
She couldn’t even look as the last pen went in , but she gets it now , and it’s another red to add to the ranks
Liverpool F.C. where dreams are made .
Just thought I’d share this little snippet of my evening with dad nephew and a new fan .
Since it’s a League Cup match thread can I get away with asking....Is she hot?

Lovely evening in the end. The never give in mentality has spread from the first team to the kids! I think when the future generations look back on great Liverpool games from the past with the amount of times they’ll see Origi’s name coming up on the scoresheet they’ll think he was Robbie Fowler, what a gem !

Klopp didn't look like he was F***ing about when he said we would forfeit the quarter final game if they didnt find an appropriate date to hold the match.

Sounded like he had already been in contact to them about this prior to tonight’s fixture, very blunt about it

Ugh. Sorry about that. He's been in Kidderminster all season. I blame advancing age and over-vulnerability to adrenaline rushes like tonight's match.

The king of poaching does it again. The amount of big goals Origi has scored in less than a year is absurd. Dudes HL over the past 12 months is fit for a lifetime. What a player.

And Origis goals have been the difference of winning important matches.Just as  well he extended his contract.

It's all very well Klopp saying that if they can't find a date then the other team will get a bye to the semi-final.

Be interesting how that position looks if we get drawn against Everton or United.

He really could be a very good striker, he has all the tools, but far too often in the league he flatters to deceive, but as an impact sub and a player to get that crucial winning goal, WOW!!!

On reflection it really was a fun game to watch, a proper roller coaster and very impressive to see such fighting spirit from the young players.

If we field the same team as yesterday then why would it be a problem, we really could effectively play two matches at the same time.

Hell of a performance from the kids last night, the mentality, fortitude &  attitude looks to have spread from the first team to the second team & no matter what the competition or opponent it’s very clear that the gaffer wants everyone involved singing from the same hymn sheet & as a side note the more I see Elliot the more I think he’s going to be some player but he really needs to sort that Barnet out.😀

What a game that was - Took my girlfriend & her little brother for their first game so couldn't have written a better script myself!

Really hope we don't bin this competition off - In a perfect world we'd bin that World Club Cup off instead - glorified corporate exhibition matches played in a human rights abusing backwards hovel of a Country. I know it's not the most prestigious trophy but I'd take League Cup games under the lights and an opportunity for a Wembley trip over that sh*te anyday!

Obviously there's going to be financial benefits to playing in the World Club Cup as well as the issue of staying in the good books for the likes of FIFA (as corrupt and backwards as they are). Just devastating that it has to come at the expense of a competition which gives great experience to our fringe players and more importantly in my opinion, an opportunity for younger fans / families to get to games

Just out of interest, if you could pick one would you take the League Cup or the World Club Cup?

I'd go League Cup all day long.
