I'd say that is true on a forum as well ;-)  If everyone showed more respect to each others views it would be a better place, I include myself in that.
Too right, my mum always said growing up you only say something about someone that you are willing to say to their face, and it’s done me well, people need to be held more accountable for what they do online.

I have no idea why these high profile athletes are on Twitter and social media, what is the upside? You will always just have opposition fans trolling you.

He's a kid doing what other kids do.

Not his fault he's suddenly playing first team football for Liverpool and that we have a bunch of morons calling themselves fans.

OK, but as I said for a sport person what is the upside of being on social media, it just seems like it would be a massive distraction and hassle, for sure have Whatsapp/ Facebook/Instagram, whatever with your mates but I'd only have closed loop private profiles, not open to the public.

I just don't think the kid has the speed to be a right back at the top level and that's essential at full back.

Money I think. Most players' don't even write their own posts, they usually just get told what to say by the club or whoever their sponsors are. Twitter was a lot funnier back in the early days when players had a lot more control over their accounts and used to post their own stuff. Some of Rooney's early tweets for example where F***ing hilarious, you can tell that his agents / sponsors have got a grip of his account now in order to monetize it, mostly because his grammar has drastically improved!

These fans left our player to walk alone? It's not like he lost us the CL singlehandedly. I do not understand these fans. Probably a bunch of wums.

Think the whole no fans thing will have a bit to do with it as well. Since he's started to half break into the team over the last few months it's all been in empty stadiums and hasn't had the support of 1000s of proper fans, so he probably thinks this weird online fringe of bedwetters who are giving him grief are a representation of the overall support, which they certainly aren't

He didn’t have his best game with him V Lincoln but he’s still learning, he will make mistakes, he will give the ball away/lose it at times, he still has that innocent look about him, and he is Still a kid, what other 19 year old lads out there play professional football in a side as good as we are ?

Those tw*ts on Twitter are green with envy, or have nothing better to do than hide behind their bile spouting keyboards, WANKERS !

That's it. Most won't have their own name / photo on their profile so on first glance it could look as though you've got a load of people giving you abuse. Majority will just be idiots who are staying up past their bedtime though

Worst of it is they're absolute armchair no marks who've never been near Anfield in their life and should be called out as cu*ts who simply have no F***ing understanding of the Liverpool way, but have a twitter account so think they actually have a voice and a right to abuse the lads.

I wish they would turn up outside or inside any boozer of their choice around Anfield and share their views. They would be in for a big F***ing shock!

Just re-watched the game and wanted to point out some promising things from Neco in his 10 minutes or so of action.

He produced an important clearance, hooking a ball clear when it looked like Atalanta would ruin our clean sheet. On another defensive corner, he won a ball in our area and sent out a beautiful pass to release Mo for what should have been goal 6. Shortly after that, he aniticipated well to intercept a pass on the right, rushed forward and hit a good cross for Mo, who unfortunately slipped as the pass was en route.

All of this came at 5-0, I realize, but I'm encouraged that Neco continues to go for it despite some of the silly criticism he has taken from supporters.

Would benefit from a loan to a championship team, get a run of games.

Personally don't think he has been anywhere as bad as some have said, he isn't Trent which is part of the problem

I agree. Think he’s done alright for a young kid. Valuable experience and playing with his national side also. He’s had more good games than bad one for me.

I genuinely fail to see how you come to that conclusion. Klopp will have known Milner was close to breaking point but he also knew that Neco was a total liability. Twice now hes had to be subbed off at HT.

I'm not sure he should be our 2nd choice specialist RB to be honest. If you cant trust him to play then that's a real issue.

I dont think so and I dont see how what he is going through is helping him either. He plays a half and gets the hook and a midfielder goes back there. It cant be nice for the confidence. I also know he takes a lot of sh*t on twitter. Think he came off it in the end.

One things for sure he will be playing quite a lot for the next few weeks so we will have to rally round him as a team. It's a huge test for him and hes a young lad. While I doubt he has the credentials I hope to F**k he proves me wrong.

The atalanta game for example, got singled out on a night when everyone was poor. To call him a total liability is ridiculous,  Trent has been abysmal defensively this season but because he is so good going forward it is overlooked

Looking more like we should have kept Hoever, hope Neco proves us all wrong but his lack of ability on the ball and pace not sure how he will ever make it here unfortunately.

I don’t like to say it but he reminds me a little bit of Moreno. He has some ability going forward including a great cross but defensively he looks all over the shop. Hope I’m proved wrong but he appears to have that spacial unawareness and clumsiness in the tackle that Moreno was known for. I think he’ll have a solid career but it will be in the championship I suspect, perhaps llower end of the epl. It’s a huge worry to have Milner go down because we will be relying on Neco for the next few games.

Naive and reckless for the penalty caused his own downfall by trying to win a header what clearly wasn't there and caught out making him trying to make amends for the penalty with a reckless tackle. Only time will tell was very impressed when he first came in but maybe just struggling with all the rest of the things going on wouldnt give up on him yet
