Premier League PFA Player Of The Year Award
      Feb 05, 2020 12:59:31 am
Am I missing something? Why is Henderson  (( 6/4 )) favourite to be player of the year? Surely the likes of Mane 4/1 & VVD 9/1 have had a better 12 months than him. I've backed Mane, for me been a stand out with VVD a close second. Honestly couldn't have Henderson on my mind above these two.

Can someone explain why he's fav?

Watch the games. You will quickly see. He’s been immense, arguably as important as VVD to our run.

I do watch the games but obviously not as intense as you lads. The fact that you say arguably as important as Hendo tells me even you have VVD ahead of him. I'm a layer at 6/4 anyway as miles too short. Mane for me even though he's had couple of injuries.

Henderson has been immense but I think amongst pundits to be liked they are saying Henderson as it seems to be the "woke" thing to do.

Personally I would give Mane the award, for me, he has been head and shoulders above most players in the PL this season but would have zero complaints if Hendo took home the prize as his influence on and off the field this season has been immense.

Henderson has been world class since the turn of the year, was good earlier in the season too but I think he's starting to be in contention due to his recent performances (similar to a boxer producing a late flurry in the last minute to win the round)

I think consistently Van Dijk has been at a top, top level all season. As has Mane, so I think they'd deserve to be ahead of him in that regard.

Personally I'd give it to Trent. He's been absolutely magnificent this season and is absolutely integral to our squad. Only issue is that he's nailed on for the Young Player of the Year award & it's very rare that they give players both (I think Ronaldo & Andy Grey are the only two who have done it in the past). Think if he was 26/27 he'd be right up there as a favourite to pick it up

It would break their rule that the player has to be 23 or younger at the start of the season.

So how come Bernardo Silva was a nominee for it last season? He was 24 the day the season started.

Looking around, it seems they consider July 1st the start of the season rather than the first day of matches.

With our squad we can afford to do that Keith.
