      Van Dijk
      Milner (c)

      Oxlade-Chamberlain
      Fabinho
      Keita

      Mane
      Firmino
      Origi

      Subs:

      Adrian
      Lovren
      Robertson
      Henderson
      Wijnaldum
      Lallana
      Salah

Should be able to rotate here and still get a convincing win.

Think we will win this one 3-0.

Can we get away with Robbo missing this and Trent ,? Salah  a non starter for this and Henderson or Wijnaldum. Would hook Firmino 60/70 mins and Mane this game is not even  close to importance of Sunday and we must gain any advantage we can

Genk had a couple of chances against us in the first leg, so they're not total mugs. I'd stay as strong as poss until we are 3 up. Then we can rest players. Deffo no Mo, Back four as usual, front three Mane, Bob and Origi. Fab a must holding, with Ox, who deserves a start and possibly Gini or Millie. Not sure Ox and Keita work well together, a bit similar. I know they did when they were both subbed on, but that was against a tiring side. Sure Jürgen will sort it out, he's always welcome to call me if he needs any advice. :couch: We'll have a strong enough bench to rest players around 60-70 mins if were doing o.k.

I think you almost have it right. I bet Jürgen leaves Trent out as well with Lovren in and Gomez at center back.

Also, if Salah doesn't start be shouldn't be on the bench either. Brewster can be in the sub role.

It's not about "relaxing" it's about using our assets in the best way and keeping players like Ox and.Keita sharp. A win here and we are pretty much qualified

Should put out strongest side possible with the exception of salah who definitely is carrying a knock, win this and presuming Napoli beat Salzburg in Italy all we will need to qualify is a point from our last two and i think Klopp would love to use that last group game away to salzburg as a chance to rotate as its at the beginning of a hectic few weeks of fixtures

Has to be a strong line up but may be with one eye on the City game. I don't think the defence will be pushed to hard so they'll be same again.Might give Gomez a game.

Mid Fab,Milner & Alex. Up front Mane,Bob and Origi. Boss doesn't have that many options up front and media reports say he is looking at Werner, striker at RB Leipzig.

Just thinking as I type here but definites for this are Alisson, Gomez, Milner, Ox, Keita, Origi. With Milner at LB and Fab sitting out for a good week, I think he will play too.

Who plays with them will be down to fitness. Salah wont be used I would guess bringing Lallana into the picture too.

Need to juggle with winning the game and managing the work load of the usual front 3, middle 3 and the 2 full backs.

On a positive point we will be camped in their half and this should end up being a nice game before we move on to City.

If we win and Napoli win then we look set to more or less qualify for the next stage.

I stopped playing a few years ago when I won the European Cup with Sunderland. It suddenly hit me I could do just as well lying in bed and fantasizing about any accomplishment.  :)

It can be a fun waste of time, but it does seem to promote a simplistic view of what it takes to build a winning team and manage said team to success in real life.

I would expect about 5 or 6 changes to the side with Citeh game coming up we need to lean on the squad players to get the job done like last week vs Arsenal and get us three points. A win and Napoli win would mean we only need 1 point in the last two games to secure spot in the knockout round.

It would be nice to see a comfortable win and clean sheet to get a little mojo going, hoping to see Ox bang in a goal or two. If Salah is fit to play would like to start him and see if he can fine his scoring boots.

Got to get the likes of Gomez, Keita and Ox up to speed in games like this one. We are an injury away from depending on some of them so they need to be ready.

Them three, Milner at full back and Origi in the front three are the changes I’m expecting (and Fabinho to play as well as he’s been off 10 days now).

Win this, and we may well have the option of resting some players in the latter games, which would be a huge plus given our schedule.

Going to be bold and go for a 4  0 score line, obviously for the Reds. Need to put them on the back foot from the start. A clean sheet would also be welcome.

I know we looked at selling Lovren leaving us with just 3 centre halves so some at the club clearly arent that worried about success that position, but even with 4 centre halves when fit, I believe there's room for a Klavan/Kgyriakos type player in our squad.

May only play 8 games a season, might be pretty ordinary, but would be playing tomorrow rather than risking players who we need for weekend.

                    Alisson
      TAA Lovren VVD Robertson
             Milner Fab AOC
          Salah Origi Lallana

Probably Hendo and Gini to start against Citeh, Bob and Mane too.
So maybe give them a break, but start the usual back 5 to keep us good and solid.
Lallana has been decent imho when have seen him, AOC has been OK too. Milner is Mr Reliable.
Salah could maybe do with another run out.
Huge match at the weekend vs Citeh, am sure Jürgen will get the balance right.
Good that we're at home on Tues, and they're away in Italy on Wed.

Very important we win this to virtually put us in the knockout stages albeit with a point needed from two further outings, no f***in about, let's get the job done and then think about the soon to be ex-champions on Sunday...

      ...                         Alisson
             Trent Lovren Van Dijk Robertson
                                  Fabinho
                        AOC                    Gini
                   Mane      Bobby      Origi...

GET ourselves 2 or 3 up by HT then we can think about resting legs for Sunday,  we have enough swinging dicks in our squad to rotate for the last two group games,  so full on in yer face 'we're gonna F**k you up' football tonight and we don't relent until we hit 4,
We are current European Champions let's show the world exactly why , as for Genk , F**k Em, their simply a hurdle we need to get over on our way to No 7.

I think we'll go close to full strength; think too many on here are underestimating the opposition.

We're not exactly clattering opponents when full strength, so why people think we can breeze past these with half a side is slightly baffling for me.

yes better to just sit back and let them destroy our passive midfield with our forwards isolated up front

Theres been enough evidence already this season that playing Ox and Keita together makes us too open.

Midfield area too important than to play those 2 together unless its games like tonight where we should really have too much for them, regardless.

One of them can play, perhaps at any one go, but in the big games it will be Gini, Fab and Hendo.

Big games you have to earn the right and win the battle first.

First trip of the season to fortress Anfield for me tonight, just got to hotel and absolutely buzzing for the game. Hoping to see goals and lots of then! I’m hoping Ox gets the start at the weekend so hopefully he may not start tonigh. We should be comfortable tonight but you never know for sure

      Have a good un.

Be surprised if it's not usual 3 in MF against City, so think you'll see one of Ox or Keita from the start today.

I think we'll go close to full strength; think too many on here are underestimating the opposition.

We're not exactly clattering opponents when full strength, so why people think we can breeze past these with half a side is slightly baffling for me.

The midfielders are going to be rotated until March or so when the fixtures finally thin out (assuming we keep going in the Champions League). Using all of them is in no way taking a dim view of our opposition. It's possible Salah may be kept out tonight for fitness reasons, but he did train yesterday so perhaps not.

I don't know whether Milner might step in for one of the fullbacks, probably not. If he does, it's about rotating over the long haul (and more immediately before the biggest league game of the season thus far), not an underestimation of Genk.

Sounds like Curtis Jones might be in the 18 based on the UEFA Youth League game. He's with the first team but probably will only make the bench if Salah is kept out altogether due to his ankle.

Would have no qualms with Milner playing at FB if that meant getting any advantage we can for Sunday
