Have to say that The Ox when he scored he looked a bit narked as if to say..."this is what I can do"...looked like that when he scored against Arsenal in the League Cup as well.

Have to say I expected a bit more from Nabby. Seeing enough of the ball just not taking into dangerous areas, just happy to lay it off. Can't be to harsh as he hasn't had a decent run but I'd like to see a bit more from him.

He's been a bit of a hit and miss at times, gets the ball, drives forward, then loses it, but I do like his tenacity!

Beat Napoli and then we can send the kids to Salzburg.

      Plan?

Not great but three points with a few players rested so can't complain too much.

Weird how it works out.  Beat PSG in the opening group game last year and then made a bit of a mess of the rest of the group.

Yeah and I was excited when he came here to see what he can do.Just don't see it yet Kit. Problem for him is he just can't get a foothold in the team so he always playing catch up in terms of being fully in tune with our game and the team.

Good at those little probing balls but we need to see him read it better, play the or at least attempt the killer ball and also try to come in on the blind side a bit more, get a goal or two.

Job done, comfortable enough, probably another goal wouldn't have flattered us.
Thought VVD did well in defense, Fab in the middle, AOC coming in again did well to grab the winner.
Mo is giving Jürgen something to think about against Citeh - start him or AOC? He's still getting into good positions but his decision making and shooting is poor. Whereas AOC has 4 in 3.
Don't think Keita's giving Jürgen much a selection headache - did OK, but would be looking for more.
Thought Origi did well. And Alisson strong hands when needed.
Think it was 5 changes or something from the weekend - so fair play to the lads for getting the 3 points and all but wrapping up the group - important win :) And well done to Jürgen again.
      Roll on Citeh..

Good to see Michael Owen pointing out to the presenter on BT that the drastic run of goals conceded in the last 8 games includes 7 wins and 1 draw.

Started brightly but faded after the break as he has on many occasions. Stop start career with us hasnt helped just doesnt seem to have the zip required to start in the big games

He wasn't shocking. The 2nd half he was creating some really good chances with through balls, very nearly resulted in more goals and did bag the assist for the winning goal.

Wasn't at his best but he wasn't shocking.

No matter how much it was discouraged by Jürgen, I suspect the players had City on their minds at least a little bit. Seems like only human nature

Dreadful game, but 3pts, top of the group, and I got a Paddington Bear 50p in my change, so all good.

Yeah and he's a trier for sure. Really determined to give the Boss a headache. And we do need more goals from midfield. Ox as we know prefers coming through the middle. Could play in front of Fab in the hole. That might leave Hendo on the bench but the Ox has earned a chance in the big games, not just making up the numbers in the Cup games or getting thrown on for the last 20/30 mins.

Another frustrating game with loads of missed chances, but we got the 3 points and are looking very good for qualification from the group.

The team Sunday, barring injury or illness, is Akisson, Trent, Robbo, Virgil, Dejan, Fab, Hendo, Gini, Mo, Bobby and Sadio.
Subs: Adrian, Gomez, Milner, Lallana, Keita, Ox, Origi.

Mo looked a lot more lively last night than he has in the last month or two. Can only be a good sign for the weekend.

Been creating a decent amount of chances lately but our shooting boots haven't been on properly. Couldn't believe how many good opportunities seemed to end up in Row Z against Villa Saturday - surely only a matter of time before everything comes together though & fingers crossed it's this Sunday!

Rather surprised to see Mo Salah start rather than Mane, last night. Who has been in decent goal scoring form lately. Thought it was a rather lacklustre performance on the whole. Seemingly with the game against City, in mind, Klopp making quite a few changes, anyway 3 points and a win, moving the Reds to top of their group, made it a satisfactory conclusion. Although not a great game for the fans.

And who says we can’t rotate? We can rotate and we can get the job done.

Deffo. And we've no choice but to make changes, can't put same team out every week.
The Citeh game is such a massive one - top of the table 6 pointer, and a physiological edge for whoever comes out 'better' [think a draw would be OK for us, less so them].
Jürgen's main target is the PL this season, could see it in the changes last night, and knows how important Sunday is.
In saying that, the team he put out should've been good enough to get 3 points, and they were.
Going according to plan so far this week...
