Just saw that. Sterling will not be considered for England's first game but remains with the squad. Maybe Joe did the coughcough *diver* coughcough bit.  :)

It wasn't a penalty Raheem. Your team lost. Get over it.

Sounds like the whole squad were consulted, and the verdict of leaving Sterling out was supported by all.
He really is a city player ain’t he.

      From The Telegraph:

"Sterling and Gomez clashed at the end of Liverpool’s victory over Manchester City, but had appeared to make peace by later embracing.

But Gomez was astonished when Sterling arrived at St George’s Park to meet up for England duty and immediately laid into him again and, according to witnesses, allegedly attempted to provoke a physical confrontation.

It is believed Sterling aimed jibes at Gomez, asking if he still thought he was the “big man” and got into the 22-year-old’s face looking for a reaction.

Some of those present were impressed with the way Gomez handled the situation by refusing to be goaded into retaliating physically and instead taking a step back.

Later realising his error, it is said that Sterling offered an apology to Gomez which was accepted and the pair now consider the fall-out to be finished. Gomez has not faced any punishment.

But that was not the end of the matter for Sterling, who will now sit out the Montenegro game and must wait to see if he is selected for the qualifier in Kosovo on Sunday.

The initial dispute between the two players at Anfield was triggered by Sterling’s attempt to take the ball off Gomez, who had been introduced as an 87th-minute substitute.

Sterling backed into Gomez and the defender responded by giving him a shove and towering over his smaller opponent. James Milner then had to drag Gomez away after Sterling deliberately pushed into his back with his shoulders after referee Michael Oliver had blown his whistle.

But there did not appear to be any lasting animosity as the two players later embraced at the end of the game and Gomez thought the matter was closed."

Sterling is lucky. Joe would have turfed him.

Daily Mail reporting that Sterling grabbed the neck of Gomez. So perhaps a bit more physical than just using words to encourage a reaction.

Absolutely hilarious though. Sterling has lost the plot like his Manager. Loving these little snippets into the aftermath of our victory. Bet their dressing room and return trip was awful...

Maybe Pep needs to have long hard look at himself, his players obviously learn from the master. As for our Joe, he obviously takes his lead from his classy manager, well done Joe for showing Sterling how to behave like an adult, not a spoilt brat!

tw*t face doing what he does best.
The 'stand off' pic in the media is comical, tw*t face squaring up to Gomez with tw*t face bereft of a step ladder to give the proposition any credibility.

The little tw*t is fully aware that Joe could deck him and the devious little tw*t is looking for some payback after him and his crew were snotted at Anfield.

I can understand the frustration of Sterling, was City’s Best player on the pitch & wanted to prove a point & win.

What I can’t understand is that you then carry or the emotional stuff into the national camp after putting your differences to bed the night before & yes they may be a bit of ribbing but no reason to grab Joe by the neck..

That should have been at least a yellow if Red, 100% cynical and could have been a bad injury. Sterling is becoming a complete and utter pr**k like Fernandinho.

We are in their heads for sure. The pressure is mounting on them, and its not even December. If we handle ours I think City may continue to do us little favors like perform the way they did against Wolves.
