It's a real photo, go check the BBC website article, there's video footage from today and you can briefly see the scratch. Hadn't realised it had actually come to that, thought they'd just squared up and been dragged apart. Fair play to Joe, sounds like he dealt with the situation admirably.

Don't think we've learned anything about Sterling that we didn't know.

      Money can't buy you class.

Only this time it's another fella, rather than his girlfriend he's trying to attack.

Seems the 'fight' happened in the canteen.
At the kids table Raheem was annoyed there were no fish fingers on the kids menu.
Joe offered to mash his potatoes, but seems he wasn't doing it right, setting the toddler off on one...

Reportedly he used a sharpened colored pencil from his connect the dots game to attack Joe.
Along with being dropped for the next game,he's gets no dessert for the next three games.

Sterling is just like a little child.

Those tantrums he throws every game when he doesn't get a penalty or something doesn't go his way sicken my pish.

      Hateful little snake.

      Glad we're shot of him.

Reports said that Gomez kept his calm but Sterling lost it.

now i see why he was kicked out. how would gareth be able to 'keep it under wraps' with this huge scratch? it would have come it eventually. Probably looked worse when it first happened too. All these pundits are talking rubbish.

So a player tries going for another and the outcome is said player scratching like a toddler would. Embarrassing tool who likes to act the tough guy. There’s a reason he has the reputation he has and why the media jump on the slightest thing he does.

Can see it really winds him up not having it go his own way against us.
Seems to have an issue with Virgil too ever since he got easily outmuscled. A few games against them now he’s been trying to leave one on Virgil.

Incredibly immature for a 24 year old to be behaving like that. Saw someone refer to him as the Scrappy Doo of English football.

Given that it's being reported the squad were all in total agreement with Sterling being dropped, just goes to show what the rest of the team think of him. He's completely humiliated himself.

Given that it's being reported the squad were all in total agreement with Sterling being dropped, just goes to show what the rest of the team think of him. He's completely humiliated himself.

Interestingly Southgate initially was going to dismiss Sterling from the camp altogether and some senior players, including Jordan Henderson, intervened and convinced him to let him stay so long as he apologized to Joe, who also said he was OK with Raheem being reinstated.

The same article in The Athletic (a lot of food went flying btw) quotes some of Sterling's reps (his agent I presume) saying he shouldn't have been suspended because "training ground bustups happen all the time."

But this wasn't a moment of shoving following a rough tackle, it was an unprovoked attack over the lunch table. Apparently Sterling was upset because of Internet videos that showed Joe pushing him away during the game (after Sterling made a point of barging into him after the whistle).

The only thing Sterling should feel at this point is lucky that Joe and others were gracious enough to let him back in.

Selling Sterling to City, looks like the real deal. Surely the value of Sterling has dropped, after his latest antics.

The real deal? Mate he's got more goals and assists than Messi in this calendar year. I don't think any potential buyers would be arsed about the Gomez incident. Suarez did much worse and was still coveted by every top club in Europe. Take your red blinkers off for a minute

See your point Mate, he seems to have improved his game. Although comes across as a spoilt brat at times, unfortunately that is the way football seems to have gone these days.

Danny Rose confirming what I thought yesterday that Sterling absolutely hates playing at Anfield and that could have been a factor.

Some players embrace it and use it fuel them on, but Sterling cracks under the scrutiny.

Yeah he cant deal with the hate. Spoke well on Twitter after the game. A lot of City fans were in full belief that Sterling was being made a scapegoat and were made up that Joe got booed.

Sterlings statement forced them to use their brains.

This should of been 'inhouse' but the shithouse jernos got onto it, cause some knob put it online. I wonder who that was.
what a tosser he was/is.  bang out of order, if Joe would have stood and banged the pr**k, he would have been unavailabe anyway.
got away with this as far as I am concerned.

Sterling's antics are of his own making, he took a massive sh*te on the club who made him what he is, by f**king off to Abu Dhabi utd the Avaricious little b***ard, he was always going to get a sh*t storm of abuse from the Kop thereafter,  fact is he can't deal with it and has now made it a million times worse with his tete a tete with Gomez,

Neanderthal England/ City fans booing Joe is f***in disgraceful and a exact  measure of what they are, absolute wankers, how can you boo your own countryman ?
Sort of reinforces the " we're not English we're Scouse argument,
Why would you want to be associated with those who boo their own ?

Now to be fair to Sterling he did admit he was wrong and all the sh*t was down to him,and his backing of Joe was commendable,  but....he's still a Kunt in my eyes, and i can't wait for his next encounter at Anfield.
