      Pre-Match: Liverpool v Napoli Weds 27th November 20:00 KO
      Nov 24, 2019 10:05:09 am
A point is needed out of our final 2 group games to confirm our place in the knockout stages.

Fresh from our hard fought victory against Palace on Saturday, we host Napoli, who are a point behind us in Group E, with 8 points.

Domestically, Napoli sit 7th in Serie A, after an indifferent start to their campaign. They drew 1-1 away against AC Milan on Saturday, this was the team they fielded:

      Meret

      Di Lorenzo
      Maksimovic
      Koulibaly
      Hysaj

      Callejon
      Allan
      Zielinski
      Elmas

      Lozano
      Insigne

I expect us to have the same squad available as we did against Palace with Matip’s return date still uncertain and Klopp saying Shaqiri needs to get match fit before he’s included in a match day squad.

Fabinho is suspended for our next Premier League game so I expect him to start this one.

      Alisson

      Alexander-Arnold
      Gomez
      Van Dijk
      Robertson

      Henderson (c)
      Fabinho
      Oxlade-Chamberlain

      Salah
      Firmino
      Mane

      Subs:

      Adrian
      Lovren
      Keita
      Milner
      Wijnaldum
      Lallana
      Origi

I can see Oxlade playing a vital part in this game, I think his powerful running from midfield could be the difference.

It would be nice to see Keita, Lallana and Origi come off the bench and try to get some rhythm going as we are going to be relying on them to come on in games and make an impact over the course of the season.

I can see Napoli giving us a good game, as expected, but I think we will win this 3-1.

Napoli on a bad run, from what I can see they haven't won since 23/10/19 against Salzburg.

One defeat to Roma and the rest they've drew since that win in Salzburg.

3 points in this one please Reds to top the group with a game to spare to enable us to rest a lot of the lads against Salzburg during our hectic December.

I'm going to this one and F***ing buzzing for it so if anyone's about for a lot of beer before hand I'll be knocking about from about 2pm.

Think Keita will play this with Gini having a breather. Possibly Milner and would let Bobby have a rest here with Origi taking is place and Mo to return

Dont think the front-3 or the back-4 will be rested for this game. Think of it this way - we win this and we finish top of the group, making the Salzburg game a dead rubber. Given that game is on a Tuesday after the Sat 3pm kickoff away at Bournemouth, Jürgen would possibly field the likes of Origi, Shaq, Ox, Lallana and Milly in Austria. I do think Keita could start tomorrow alongside Fab and Hendo.

About time we had a clean sheet. Let's do this Red Men.. 2-0!!

All kinds of internal stuff going on within Napoli with the owner as well, threatening to sell half the squad etc.

Not true. If we draw against Napoli and Salzburg win their last two, we could go out. We need a win here.

Sorry, but this is not the game where Jürgen is going to be giving ANYONE from his first choice lineup a breather. Lovren and Gini will start. This is a proper European night and a big part of why players sign with the club. The league match at the weekend will be the time to rotate a bit, but not for this game. This is the team I expect:

Play the strongest team here and get the win, its absolutely vital we win this match so that the Salzburg game becomes a dead rubber.

I actually fancy us to dish out an Anfield arse kicking in this game, someone is due a thrashing and why not Napoli with their "charming" fans.

      I agree entirely with that.

Like I've mentioned elsewhere I'm also interested to see just how Liverpool then approach a game that is, in effect meaningless, but worth about £2.5M.

Napoli don't seem to be pulling up any trees in Serie A, although arguably their best two performances in the group stage last year were against us.

Just need to get the job done here, that Koulabily is some player so if we can get the beating of him we should win fairly comfortably as I can't see them causing our defence many problems.

Few tickets popping up on the website for this too if anybody is interested (Lower Annie Rd / Upper Main) - Late availability so I don't think you'll need any credits. Just a membership

Napoli’s style of play seems to disrupt us. Similar to United, they always turn up against us. Just one of those teams.

Salah’s goal last year was one of my all times favs, we played so well and had many opportunities but still only won by one goal.

Can we have a stress free evening for once?

I think we’ll win 2-0, Firmino and Salah.

7th in the Serie A...but got a credible 1-1 away to Inter who are 2nd to Juve. Need to play full strength team, but only risk MO if he's really ready for the full 90 +.

Put this one away and we can concentrate on the league.

They stuffed us in pre-season and have beaten us this season so hopefully strongest team, get the win this time and give ourselves a bit of freedom in the final game.

Not to mention it would be nice to progress before a final week drama for a change.

We've found Napoli VERY difficult to overcome  the past 2 seasons, so talk of resting players for this is a bit of a joke!

Makes more sense to rest a couple of players home to Brighton, which is in theory, an easier game.

We should, & I'm sure will, go full strength.   If we go a couple up, maybe rest a couple in the last 20 mins.  Get the win, ensure topping the group, then we can rest as many as we like away to Salzburg.

This will be a testing match again.

Lallana, wtf?? You're gonna have to explain that one to me, why would you play someone with notoriously horrible finishing as a forward? Despite Ox being a bit average on Saturday I'd always rather play him than Lallana as a forward, or how about Origi, our actual forward!

Hoping this is the game where we really kick into gear and give this lot a spanking. We owe them one and think they may well get it.

Although napoli seem to be in a bit of turmoil they still have an excellent coach and very good team. Promises to be very tight

I have a feeling we will as well, I thought we were better than them in the first leg and should have won despite playing quite poorly and we are playing much better now, whereas they seem to be in a mini slump.

Fact is, they have been a very difficult team for us in the past couple of seasons, two losses in group stage, a pre-season hiding and an important but narrow victory last year to advance. They will feel confident of their chances against us. I agree with Klopp that the off-field drama they are experiencing won't impact them on the park tomorrow.

But it should be a proper European night at Anfield and a chance to write another chapter in a wonderful legacy for this competition.

      Let's do this.

Not saying Jürgen will start him, and he likely won't as he's had fewer starts than AOC. Was more making the point to rest Salah - so yeah, could slot AOC or Origi in instead of him.
Lallana's form has been up and down over the years [when fit] but think in the games I've seen him so far this season he's done well imo, so I'd be interested to see him get a run. And got an important goal in the PL against Utd.

I’m expecting some rotation in the middle of the park but aside from that it’ll be our strongest team I should think. I think we’ll go:

      Trent.        Lovren.      VVD.    Robbo

                            Fabinho
                 Ox.                    Milner

        Salah.           Firmino.         Mane

We need to win this, if not, harder games will follow, which we do not need

Lets get this sorted. Don't want to have to go to Salzburg needing a Win to go through on the final Match Day.

Long day of travelling ahead of me.

Setting off in 2 hours for this one. Can't wait. Slept sh*te the last few nights so hopefully catch a few more hours on the bus/boat as I'm knackered.

Really looking forward to this one and with Napoli on a bad run of form I really hope we can add to it by spanking them, we owe them one from our only defeat in 90 minutes this season.

Very clear from Klopp's pre match that he's going with a full strength team and rightly so.

      Strongest team please.
Salah & Robertson to start, then take them off 2nd half.

Took a day off from work, being a total lazy c**t and will probably leave for a pre-match bevvy about 6pm.

It would be a great boost to wrap up qualification, by winning this game tonight. Certainly the team has enough quality to beat Napoli, putting us through to the next stages of the competition, without having to worry about the Salzburg game.
