Somehow I like Adrian more. I don't see where Allison is superior to him. But I trust the boss, so all good.

       ;D

Nice try but I don't see anyone biting here.

Got to say as much as that 1st half was absolutely frightening, 100mph, breakneck, heavy metal football, I loved the control in that second half. Especially from a team who are not all familiar with each other. Took the fizz right out of it but at the same time could have scored an extra 2 or 3.

Shoutout to Lovren who, after an early mistake, redeemed himself with some fine defending and a fantastic assist. Shoutout to Shaqiri who has emerged from the shadows (and injury) to put in a fine 90 minutes. Shoutout to Henderson who came on and put in a fine cameo imo, bringing even more control to that midfield.

Big big big shoutout to Divock Origi who just keeps reminding us of why Jürgen has kept him around. Not just the goals, which were fantastic in themselves, but his all round centre forward play was F***ing fantastic. A cult figure to some but that performance there gives Jürgen something to think about. Really really proud of that performance and made up for that guy.

      But...

Man of the match has to be Sadio Mane. That performance in the first half was absolutely different class. I mean he really relished being the main man there and showed us a different aspect of his game with 2 special assists. The goal was just what we have come to expect from him; he really has turned in to an accomplished goal scorer. By god he could have made that last 10/15 minutes more comfortable after missing 2 sitters, but I don’t think I’d change this man for anyone in world football. He is that good.

Anyone realise what a shithouse of a player Sigurdsson is? Absolute wreck of a display tonight anyhow from him.

And a massive shout out to Shaqiri as well who I thought was just superb. Lallana, while he looked a bit uncontrollable on the ball like an excited puppy at times was superb off it with some relentless pressing that reminded you of how important a player he was for Klopp's first 12 months or so at the club. Great runout for these guys and all put in confident, aggressive displays.

And what is it with Robbo always stealing these priceless off the ball moments? Love the man.

Allison is the best keeper in the world

But why? What does he better than Adrian and can you - and how - measure it?

Just as an example let's compare Shaq and Salah: Both are weak in their defensive behaviour since they are small and shy away from tackles. Both are technically gifted. But the difference is and I can see that: Salah is faster while Shaq is rather slow. That gives Salah a wider spectrum of things to do and one can see that. Both can pass, short and longer, but Salah can go 1-1, Shaq not, so Salah > Shaq in general. My question is: can one break that down with Allison and Adrian too or is it more a "feel"-thing? I'd like to hear those things from pundits, but usually they tell you what any fan can tell you, I miss those in-depth stuff.

We moved the ball with a lot more purpose, not just for the long balls. There was an energy about us and the Mane/Origi show will be difficult to drop.

MOTD trying to say it was penalty by VVD. There wasn't enough contact to make it a penalty.

If VAR had reviewed could well have given it seen much softer given.

Better shot stopper, better positioning and better distributor of the ball.

I like Adrian as well though so all good eh  ;)

MOTD saying VVD should have been sent off and a penalty.

I personally think he went down too easy and never ever looked confident with actually pulling the trigger

Never a penalty but not surprised those arseholes on MOTD are saying that though.

Wouldn't be a red anyway as they scrapped all that a few seasons ago. Penalty is now seen as enough punishment, double jeopardy rule I think it is.

I give it to Origi for that world class finish but there was hardly a fag paper between them in terms of brilliance. Going to be difficult to break up the Mane/Origi combo. Mane for a start looks far more dangerous thru the middle. Origi is a handful accros the forward line, so the Boss certainly has 5 quality attackers now all up to speed

If VAR had reviewed could well have given it seen much softer given.

Seemingly VAR did review it in game.

There were other similar moments against us. One tackle just like VVD's (escapes me who was involved) and the potential foul on VVD from the corner where he was pulled down, and the ball hit their lad on the arm in that same moment. All on the same level of 'softness'.

That was some performance though eh??! Don't care about conceding goals if this is how we continue. 3 points is all that matters. Man City conceded after going 4-0 against Burnley. We turned the heat on against Everton scoring more goals since decades ago. Their biggest achievement tonight was kicking at our lads and turning the game into a scrap at times.

Proper low asperations from Everton. No wonder they are 3rd from bottom!! Look who put them there! Huge victory this.

Haven't seen it mentioned, but do you think Bobby felt a little vindication from skinning Holgate to make the final goal?

Origi's 2nd goal would make a dead man skeet. There are levels of world class goals, and that one was up there. Beautiful

Mane is hitting his prime. Our best player this season.

Robbo laughing in that girls face was priceless

Man can our CBs pass the long ball

Shaq looked damn good. Skinned them all night long.
