Cant wait for Villa to come to Anfield when they have to play the Adults in the Family think there may be some payback.
Still reflecting on how much these lads will have taken from this I think one of the big differences is being able to be switched on for every second of the game. The fans were amazing how many other teams just would not have bothered knowing the team we put out.

Actually have no narrrk...with Villa. They didn't create the situation. They put out a team to win and didn't disrespect us in any way. Hope we batter them next time but I have no bad feelings, other than normal rivalry, against them.

Good luck to Oxford & Colchester tonight against the Mancheater clubs.

I agree with this, Villa just beat what was in front of them, they didn't take the piss in any way.

      Well said Sir..

This thread is about the great performance of the academy kids last night. It was a hard lesson as we were unlucky and could've been 2 up within 20 mins. The two fortunate Villa goals took the wind out of us a bit but we gave a respectable performance esp in the second half when heads could've easily gone down.

As for the wool term I was actually after the derivation of the word, /

It's a term that derives from the old docks that referred to a person who was from out of town, and worked in the Liverpool docks as scab labour.

Good shift from the lads considering they were well out of their depth. As said from watching the game I can definitely see Hoever and Elliot being called up to the first team. The lads gave it their all, which is all we can ask. Villa definitely need a F***ing twatting when the first team get them in the league game at Anfield.

These young lads that represented the club last night can only improve and get better. As for Villa will have a fight on their hands to stay in top flight football.

Many of the players from last night will likely end up floating around the lower leagues but that said, the experience of playing damn well, despite the scoreline saying otherwise, will stand them in good stead. Massive learning curve for the players and will be a good indication for them to know the minimum level they need to reach to have any chance of making it to the Premier League. Huge difference between the level they are used to and last night, an experience that few in their league will have had themselves so it could very much benefit their own season.

In all honesty the only ones I saw with any potential were Hoever, Elliott and Chivarella, the rest are ok players but obviously its tricky to judge on just one game

Agreed but as I said last night, it’s incredibly difficult to get one youngster with the potential to break through into the team, so for us to have 2 was always going to mean there was a high chance the rest are some way off that level.

If Chirivella was going to make it through he would have by now seeing as he’s getting on for 23.

But we’ve probably done the competition a favour by not winning it, just think how many medals we’d have needed

I thought with the lack of experience available to them it was after all a weak under 23 team 3 of the best 4 players out.  I thought it was more of an exam for the players to see how far they are from playing at that level.  I thought Hoever played better than he played in his first game so signs of improvement for me.   And Elliot well he passed in flying colours.

Our team was really disbalanced, our attack was very good. Elliott was the best player on the pitch bar their goalie but I think that our defense was very shaky.

      We never deserved that score!

So Leicester couldn’t get out of the cup, no matter how hard they tried against the Bitters then,
More games for them to contend with. 😂
