Disappointed that a few of the key U23 players are missing tonight. They should be playing here.

I'm sure Jürgen appreciates your input..drop him a note.

Didn't deserve that scoreline for sure!

Herbie Kane could have had 3 or 4

Their Keeper was MOTM for sure but you can't go past Harvey for us. What a talent! Hope he gets to be Mo's understudy.

those first two goals were just madness you cant legislate for them. This has been the best 90 mins education these lads could have had in preparing them for their future careers.
Very proud of their effort but what about our fans 10 out of 10 yet again. If anyone has posted negatively tonight you need to give your head a wobble.  This may actually help several of these lads realise what they need to do know to make the grade.
They had more shots and 8 on target 7 corners to Villas 2 15 shots to Villas 12 so don't just look at the scoreline .
      Well done lads good effort

Well that wasn’t a reflection on the game.

60% possession nearly, 15 shots and over 600 passes to their 400. Can’t be ashamed of that, their keeper made the scoreline much more flattering for them.

No wonder they are candidates for relegation, experienced players struggling against nippers. The scoreline was as unjustified as us having to play in these circumstances.

Do not understand why they are trying to play like the first team, as kids we need a team ethick, yeah, but they need to express themselves. Work together as a unit, and work as a team who can compliment each others strenths
because thats how you prepare them for playing for the first team and work out who will make the grade. We're in it to win the Premier league not the u18 league

Played the Liverpool way, pass 'n' move. Weren't embarrassed, created chances and the scoreline flattered Villa. Good performance.

Something to talk about for them in school tomorrow isn't it?

Harvey Eliott is impressive. Other than the Kane thing he did which hes learned from, he seems to be maturing now off the pitch too. Nice touch at the end going to the fans and handing a young lad his shirt.

      Seems to get it.

What this game does though is confirm my worries for the first team if we lose another central defender. We are very close to relying on either a midfielder in Hendo, Gini or Milner to play CB or asking Sep to play.

I dont think he is close to being ready if anything does happen back there. Not far from a transfer window and I do wonder if Klopp will look at it and make a short term move.

He has done it in the past with Caulker (answers on a post card with that) and I wonder if he will do it again.

Hoever would come in before Sep would.

      Only just got the result.
Hay ho. Who gives s toss. Great experience for them, and villa really made sure there was no upset fielding 8 internationals.
A lot to be said for the attitude of our lads tonight, think most of them will go on to better things.
Villa will likely get relegated, and they won’t win the cup either.

We showed some nice play, and the young lads can deffo take positives from the game.
Big defeat score-line wise, but not bothered about that in the slightest.
Bit pissed off at the fu**ed up scheduling that means the same lads who did so well to get past Arsenal didn't get another run at it.
But I guess that's the price of success.
And a reflection on where in the pecking order this competition stands. Surely will have to be knocked on the head soon.
