Cards on the table, I think Trent is just class.

Beat a very good team there, a clever technical team. Gomez and Allison top for us. Great ball in by TAA for the winner and just as well.We didn't need another 30 minutes out there.

Honestly think if we’d have started Bobby, Mo, Salah, Mane and Trent this would have been over by halftime. Might have saved some legs as well but it is what it is. Need to go win the trophy now.

We all sound like Jürgen now. He's that infectious.

Going to be a tasty final...

2 games out of 3 (close to being 3 from 3 tbh) where I've gone for Alisson  MOTM.

Bailed us out with that little flick on the ball in the second half, then solid throughout the second half.

Last 15 the warning signs were there for them. They tried to buy time wherever they could and a quarter of the team went down with cramp.

Superior fitness was our friend in the end.

Young Trent just sees things other players don't. Allison is incredibly understated what a goalkeeper.  Mo just saying and I translate...what a bunch of dirty bas**rds they were.

Well it did improve in the second half, well done and looking forward to Saturday

Alisson showing his class , thought Keita had a good game , thought Adam worst player for us , easy to see why we are in for another midfielder with energy , think his time will soon be up with us .

A very lack lustre performance, I just wonder if the bug that has laid out VVD is going around the dressing room.

Allison is in some form, makes brilliant decisions. Was Motm.  We missed VVD how we take him for granted these days.  Henderson did OK but wouldn't be confident against better sides.   Salah was on creativity mode created chances and was involved in both goals.  With our squad being stretched we just couldn't afford to risk going to extra time.  The opposition were strong in challenges and we have done well to not pick more injuries. 

It was an exciting game now lets bring the trophy home.

Obviously not at our best but then we did have player's playing out of position, in a X1 not as fluid as what we are normally,  add Divock,  Ox and Joe off kilter and a Monterrey side better than we expected,  but for Allison pulling off a couple of worldly saves we could have lost this quite easily, 
But we didn't that's all that matters,  second half Jürgen tweaked it ,putting Salah through the middle Shaq right Divock left, that gave us better balance and allowed us a bit more freedom,  when Mane came on I knew we'd win it, they were tiring and  you could see the difference in fitness levels,  by then they were dropping like flies so Trent coming on followed by Bobby,  their Goose was cooked,

Now onto the Final on Saturday where we will be Dancing all over Flamenco,  Dancing on the Streets of Doha. 😂

Underestimated I think. Lesson learnt, again.

Hard fought game, obviously we weren't helped by having VVD out. Thought Alisson & Keita were superb and Hendo threw a shift in playing out of position.

Great ball by Trent and excellent finish by Bobby to guide the ball home.

Alison motm for me. These people just say,
“ no big deal, just doing my job.” 
Well without him today, we are playing for third spot.
What a keeper, just goes through the motions, whatever’s required. Never see him screaming and hollering at his defenders. Calmness personified.
If Heiniken done goalkeepers, eh !

We really underestimated Monterrey, a decent side.
I think we were probably a bit lucky to win that, now onto Saturday, hopefully a fairly strong side to start, it might be an easier game than today.
BTW maybe put in a bid for some of their CB's if we need some cover, is their season over or just starting?

Just so relieved we dodged the extra time.

We should really have started full strength, then rested players when we got ahead, and they were going down like skittles!
It’s clear the back up is not quite st the level of the first 11 regardless of recent performances. The big difference is consistency. You gotta do it every game.
Clearly everyone ran their nuts off, and fair play for that, but we almost came unstuck on a number of occasions. They were well organised, and defensively resilient.
It’s needed something special to break through, and we got it.
On to the final.

On a different note, my niece  works and lives in Doha. Was gonna phone her and tell her to pop down and get us 2 tickets for the final and wed stay at her flat!
Bugger ! She’s come home to uk for Christmas 🤷🏼‍♂️
