Just after that klopp waved at him like 'come on then' and their manager basically mimed 'I'll see you out the back'.

I was a little worried about the back Four tonight, think we need a bit more cover for centre back in January

I can't remember his name but the commentator said he's had 17 jobs in 15 years or something.

He's obviously a foreign pulis, get that payment for being a sh*t manager in the bank and move on.

There were a lot of strong challenges especially studs shown towards Salah's ankle.  I was worried that we were going to get injuries.  The yellow card for the CB on their left side calm the amount of dirty attempts on Salah.  A lot of trying to cheat the ref and all that.  Will we see the same on Saturday?

Great that Nabby is now making an impact. Gets better every game. Great run for his goal and brilliant by Mo to see the run even before Nabby started. Don't agree that we were that sluggish. We controlled a lot of the play and Mo still had the desire and strength to  trick them and lay it off with 3 around him.

      Big final still to come.

Very scrappy game, them scoring right after we got ahead kinda took us off guard and we got dragged down to playing to their level. Nice to see Salah again being difference maker and Firmino score a goal after couple of poor showings in the past few games. Thought Naby had another positive showing and Milner put in a good shift at RB though when TAA came on was a difference maker to the attack.

So a Latino, Arabic Serbian. Quite the lineage in that name.

He was bawling at the ref from the opening kickoff. Embarrassing really.

First time I felt injuries, lineup changes (and probably travel) impacted our performance significantly.

No matter. We played. We won. We're still in for another trophy.

      Good enough for me.

Does anyone know if any of the kids flown or flying in (VDB, Hoever, Kelleher, and now Elliott) are eligible for the 18 on Saturday?
I think Elliott was listed in the original squad, but none of the others.

I think Elliott was listed in the original squad, but none of the others.

With injuries to Brewster and Lovren before we went away we were able to replace them with two young dutch defenders so they would be eligible to play in the final.

I did not see the game but it seems that Salah is back to his best form. The pass was great and his highlights are impressive.

Keita scores again! I hope he stays in the starting 11. We'll need his goals.

Alisson was definitely M.O.M. for me and Keita is certainly proving his worth to the squad now.I think we missed Virgil but we earned the win,now to get another win in the final.

Well done, cracking win, considering all the changes.

Big VVD will be fit for Saturday, and I expect the front 3 to start.

As noted, allison. Naby, Salah & all the guys in defence were brilliant. Lallana looked good too.

      They were dirty bas.....s too.

We just know how to win don’t we? Whether it is coming from behind, from a draw, by luck or when not playing well. We just get over the line.

It’s not how or the manner you destroy your opponents, but the rate of getting over the line in 95 minutes of football called success or win rate. We are doing exactly that now.

Some fine all round performances, but in the end gave my MOM to Alisson who pulled off some brilliant saves, in this entertaining game.

      Quote from heimdall
We really underestimated Monterrey, a decent side.
I think we were probably a bit lucky to win that, now onto Saturday, hopefully a fairly strong side to start, it might be an easier game than today.

Jürgen didn't underestimate them, some of the fans did unfortunately. This is the WCC. Every side in it, bar the hosts, is a champion of their continent and are used to winning big games. As are we. The fact we don't know much about them or recognise the qualities they have, is our loss.

I expected to win, but I knew it would be a hard competitive game, which it was. These are big games for these teams, and the notion that they would lie down for us to reach the final, was hopelessly unrealistic. Look at the fight a team from Saudi Arabia that nobody ever heard of, gave Flamengo. There's no Watford standard at this tournament, so if you want to win games, you have to earn it. And we got there, eventually.

Flamengo are another step up in quality. This is more important to them than the Libertadores, so we have to match their enthusiasm. Hopefully, we'll win this at the 4th attempt.
