I think We Are The Champions has been sung by too many clubs on too many occasions since then though & it's almost lost it's meaning.
The whole meaning of the song has absolutely nothing to do with sport.
pity you weren't about in the 70's and 80's George Sephton played every game when we were Champions . It has historic meaning I don't give a F**k where else it is played it hasn't been played at a league game for nearly 30 years that is the significance not whether you like or dislike it as a song.
Don't remember it in 1990, definitely remember singing YNWA as the players went round the pitch after winning it against QPR. Tbh we've got too many of our songs to be sung now, I can't see it being played personally.
