Back To The Milestone - Part III (100)

And the third part of the trilogy is maybe the most important signing we've made in many years.

Virgil Van Dijk is now just one game away from reaching the century of appearances. It's a milestone we always thought would come after watching his very first game in a Liverpool shirt where he claimed the headlines with a wonderful Derby winning goal in the Cup. He has since claimed many headlines and many awards and rightfully so because he's hardly put a foot wrong during his first 99 games for the club.

A leader at the back who has brought the best out of all of those around him. All the while looking like he hasn't even broke sweat.

People said the amount we spent on him was far too much. Now people are looking at it as an absolute bargain.

The man just doesn't have a fault in his game. Incredibly solid performer and without question, the best centre half in the world right now.

Given it started with a Cup tie against Everton, it'd be nice if the 100th game was the same scenario but I highly doubt it given we've got Wolves and Sheffield United between now and then.

But regardless of when the big man becomes the 216th man to make a 100 Liverpool appearances, you can almost guarantee it'll be another flawless performance.

Well done Virg. You've already established yourself well in the conversation as our greatest ever centre half, which is some achievement given what's gone before you.

Shows how immense we have been since he joined that he is already at 100 appearances. We have had to go deep in a number of tournaments for him to already be hitting his century.
