As well as really putting a sword to the heart of Everton's renewed confidence (short lived) it meant our lads will have had 9 days between games how cool is that for them its hard to see any negatives in yesterdays win.

That is a such a great bonus, it was a big gamble by Jürgen but it paid off big time.

wrong wrong wrong ffs. They never had a shot on target after 27mins. Adrian made some good saves not wprld class ones. The lads grew into the game and hunted them down like pack animals  it was a thing of beauty. Never mind Everton this or that those lads suffocated them they simply didn't get any time on the ball they were simply brilliant to a man or boy.  It was a team that had two sessions in preparation yet outplayed an established Premier league team with a manager who likes to tell people he beats us. An incredible performance on every possible level.

Agree with this. and all the BS from commentators talking about how good walcott was, ffs, he was up against an 18yr rookie. ;D

Everton gave us a few scary moments in a game of 90mins, our reserve goalie was up to the few they hit the target with, Apart from that our team played them off the park.

Took a look on the match thread over on their forum for a laugh. It goes from being confident and hoping Klopp would play the reserves to complete meltdown.

What a goal to win it too.

This was literally the best chance they’ve had to win in the last 20 years and we completely humiliated them. Love it. The dominance we had in the second half was what you’d have expected from experienced players, we had so much control of the game.

I gave Joe my motm thought the same , he is back to the player before he broke his leg always takes him a bit to get his rythym but once there he is pure class , just hoping he gets a long injury free run under his belt .

I too gave Joe my motm, I thought he was just immense. After his serious injury, I think many of us were concerned for him, that he wouldn’t get back to his best. Well, he’s back and I think better than ever, absolutely made up for him.

I looked on Grand Old Team for a good laugh and it didnt disappoint. One of them put up a picture from his phone of his 6 year olds sons training kit which he had cut into pieces.

Everton wives, run for you lives.

watched the game again in full and it was even more impressive given the back ground to the selection of the team. I thought they hunted down Everton players quicker than the big boys team they were all over them like a rash.
Harvey Elliot impressed me today because he was just so disciplined at no time did he deviate from his job it was never about him. Williams at full back I would have no problem seeing him in the team now if required. The story goes Jürgen agreed his extension to build another team ready for the next manager it looks like he is already half way there

Totally agree Walt.. Those lads were so hungry and just never gave up.. it's a testament to just how good our actual 1st team players are.. When you think that Williams and Larouci are knocking on Trent and Robbos' door and one day they will get in.
16 year old Harvey Elliot kept one of Everton's best players and French international Digne completely snookered down that right hand side, so much so, he got booked.

Mad to think Curtis Jones wasn't even born the last time Everton won a derby  :lmao:
      and
Since the start of 2012 there have been 17 Merseyside Derby's.
Everton have been in the lead for a total of 7 minutes  :lmao:

I wouldn't argue with anyones MOTM choice it is a testament to just how well they all played and how much effort they all gave

just watched the goal again apparently Pickford said to Curtis "nice cross" and there you have the difference in our two teams we have a team/squad full of humble lads who know hard work will always pay and Everton a team of shallow individuals who have no concept of the greater good.
Enjoy these days my friends this is 1959 onwards all over again

One of my other favourites from the great man was  ‘if Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden I’d close the curtains’.

And there was the dustbins and Harry Catterick with the dustbins winning.
