      Terry Jones RIP

Yes sad day for comedy. Watched MPFC from the very early days, some of it missed but when it hit it was hilarious. They were breaking new ground with almost every show so it was inevitable that some of it didn't work. Was at the final show at the O2 Arena.Great show still. Ah well..

      RIP TJ.

A bit like Cancer, I think it's one of those diseases we can't fully eradicate. Mainly due to the nature of how it effects the brain. Might have words with you in the other threads but sorry to hear about your Dad and what your mum's going through.

ESPN News claiming 13 year old daughter on board with him. They had people in studio talking about him during half-time of NFL pro-bowl. Just seen a clip on sky and seen news bar.

I am watching ESPN.  In tears. Every team doing the eight second backcourt violation and then the next team committing a 24 second shot clock violation.

      Kobe was a great player.

But he was a better Man. A Father. His daughter is gone too. So sad right now.

As well as our season is going, this puts some perspective on things.

      RIP

Read about that too, does nothing to paint him in a good light, then again we were all kissing Kobe's arse the other week and he wasn't squeaky clean either, paying off the girl he allegedly raped.

Seeing a load of outrage online about how the rag have deleted all their articles slating her. And people sound surprised about it!!

It’s no wonder Harry and Meghan have fu**ed off to the states. The media here will literally keep going and going in the hope of breaking someone.

It’s sad but she won’t be the last to have her life destroyed by the media.

I think the point about “live by the (celebrity) sword, die by the sword” is a fair one and is often used to justify how these stars are seen to be happy with that intrusive culture when they are on their way up and need it, but bemoan the game once they find it.

I think there’s a different point to be made though about the press bullying and harassment that then leads to social media pile ons with all the blerts and weirdos online.

      The cult of celebrity!

      RIP

Harry Gregg a survivor of the Munich air disaster but also a hero too pulling people out when the plane could have easily blown up. played 13 days after the disaster with a fractured skull. They certainly made them from strong stuff. RIP

Bill Withers has died. Heart related, not virus related.

At age 6 or 7 I remember sitting on my back porch and a much older neighbor boy would play some of his 45s for me and one of the songs was "Lean on Me" which has always reminded me of those days.

The piano intro with him humming....

Bill Withers was and perhaps still is, the answer to a trivia question who had the longest singing note in a top 40 song. It was from his hit "Lovely Day" You can hear it at about 3:05 of this and it sound like it goes for about 22 seconds (if you think that is easy, try it).

RIP Bill, and thanks for the good songs.

EDIT: just read posts from Klopp's Snood and FK10 - yup.
