Edwards is great at what he does. But, under FSG we only spent big when we sold coutinho.

Not knocking fsg but that's a fact. You wont find liverpool spending 60m plus on players unless someone is going/has gone out.

You know what I mean, don’t try to be funny.
When you have kids going for £30mil+, mid table team players moving around for £50mil+ and top players going for over £100mil... then yeah, in football, for a top player, and top team, £50mil is loose change imo.

Coronavirus has destroyed the market, christ knows how much money we have lost. Our squad is good enough to keep our powder dry for 1 more season, but it would mean Oirgi staying put in my opinion.

Chelsea may not even make CL next season and not sure where this money is coming from.

Our wider issue is our 3 forwards are nearing 30 and we need at some point to rebuild in that area in the not too distant future.

Couple of years down the line but it's an issue.

Keep forgetting is the only option and player out there Jesus there are others and the way we play things could be a smokescreen for someone else who knows

So how come Chelsea can spend, spend, spend but we can't because of Covid?

Seems a bit odd....almost like an excuse to not spend big?

Also...we knew all along what it was going to cost to get this kid. This is way under his market value so it's not like there wasn't going to be SOMEONE that paid the release clause. So if we knew this was a great deal and it's someone that Jürgen wanted, why did we even talk to him to start with if we weren't serious about paying the money?
