Why only 25 million that's small change, go for a percentage of what the club or owners worth

The ban will hurt them financially as well - even if they get it appealed down to one season.

But it's thrown the top 4 into question. They will appeal it but the ruling interferes with the Premier League competition. City deserve all they get but the ruling should've been left to the end of the season.

Agree. What is the timetable for the appeal process. Does a 5th-placed team then have a chance to quality for the CL, or will only three teams from England make it now?

If the EPL decides to deduct points it should be at the beginning of next season, not now (when it would basically be a meaningless penalty as the league's won and there's nothing for them to qualify for anyway. Yes it would affect their prize money from the league this year, but totally small potatoes for them.

(and all that is only if CAS doesn't let them off the hook).

Any fine shouldn't go to UEFA to fuel their own corruption. Give it to that Juan Mata charity that Klopp supports or something like it.

Maybe, but this gives them more time for the appeal to be heard and enable the ban to start with next season (City will be lucky to get it down to one season, in my opinion).

They're four points off fifth with poor recent form, I bet they finish sixth.

If there is a possibility of a points deduction, lets hope the PL are not stupid and wait till next season.

Cowardly from the premier league if they deduct them points for this season, this season is a lost cause for them they can’t make Europe places and can’t win the league. Hit them where it hurts and start them -10 points next season

This could potentially set them back for years. They have high wages as it is and plan on spending big again, something they need the CL for to help balance the books...or attempt to in their case.

Aguero, KDB and several others are all either approaching 30 or in their 30s so could well want out to try and win what has eluded their careers. Not a chance Pep stays IMO so there is going to be one hell of a job for their next manager to get them back competing again.

Or maybe, the owners will now say they’ve had enough and then the club is really up the creek. 10 years on and they haven’t achieved the dominance they had expected. I doubt the owners would walk away but it is an outside possibility. Especially seeing as they will now see their reputations tarnished.

Yeh that would be silly.  Better off taking 2 points off last season total!  Any deductions have to come for next season can't be given when the title is really pretty much decided in most peoples eyes.

It’s all a big conspiracy theory to help Liverpool win more and help United get back in the champions league hahaha also the only reason we aren’t being investigated for FFP is because our owners are American seemly  :lmao: :lmao:

If this ban doesn't stick then they may as well just scrap the whole FFP rule.  There is no point forcing down the weaker teams when the big fish are let out of the net!

This could potentially set them back for years. They have high wages as it is and plan on spending big again, something they need the CL for to help balance the books...or attempt to in their case.

I think it has to have a longer term effect because if they are going to stick to FFP rules then they are going to struggle to keep their top players on wages alone.  They will need to start again when the ban is lifted.  And it is going to be harder after living through the consequences of breaching the rules.   Pep doesn't look comfortable this could be his passport to leave.

I AM POSITIVELY FUCKIN PISSING MYSELF,

This is what happens when the Greedy Bas**rds get even Greedier, this is what happens when Financial Muscle gets cramp, City and their Shaky Shiek owners have gotten their very avaricious fingers burnt,

I hope to f**k they do appeal, and I hope to f**k UEFA add another f***in year onto it for having the audacity to appeal in the Knowledge that they knew the were bending the f***in rules, appealing for me is like saying to UEFA, f**k you cu*ts,  we have Billions and can manipulate who the f**k we like, including those appeal judges, a wee luxury yacht here and there means f**k all to us,

If City and their Shaky Sheikdom want to preserve some credence, they should bury their collective heads in the Abu Dhabi sand, accept their punishment  and move the f**k on, but ....

Who the f**k gives a f**k, Greed needs to be punished, so F**k them, they got what they deserved , no CL for two f***in years, that’s Karma in a big Shiney F**k you ,

the bad news is, it  could give that other Scummy Manc Mob a open door to a CL spot, finishing 5th will take the spot City have so kindly donated, but it will be fun watching them take a very early bath,

Now, let’s have a bit of Golden Icing on the Cake, City make it to the final where..........

.....they face.......Us.... and we F**k them up good and proper by winning our SEVENTH, Whilst they , not only get fu**ed in the final, they will have two seasons  watching us continue our domination and can’t do f**k all about it...... and all their star players F**k off.... Pep gets bagged.....and Noel & Liam spontaneously combust..... in the Emptihad,    MERRY XMAS !

The bas**rds should have any cups they have won over the last 5 seasons taken away from them.Without a doubt we should be declared league champions for last season. At least we would of earned the league honestly.
