Man City - 2 Year Champions League Ban

All that shocked me about the whole thing is that they were provisionally slapped with a "ban" in the first place. No doubt they've been using creative methods to funnel funds into the club, but the whole thing just seems like a gesture from UEFA with the purpose of trying to create an illusion they're at least trying to implement the rules, with City being the example.

When PSG can drop £400M on two players (while also paying them both a total of near enough £1M a week) you know the whole thing is fu**ed and that regulations obviously aren't being followed

Makes our job of staying at the top a lot harder given our financial limitations but it’ll make the titles a lot sweeter when we win them.

This. A precedent has been set and that’s it now, clubs can do what they want.

Surely the fact they’ve still been given a significant fine, is proof enough they’ve cheated for a 2nd time and at the least they should have been given a 1 year ban. So many teams have been banned now despite co-operating to the investigation. City done everything possible to hinder it.

The way they were so confident from the start that they would win the appeal didn’t sit right.

So you can buy and cheat your way to the title and get away with it. I so hope they never win the european cup.

It makes our title win even more special and they've still got us to deal with next season. Cheats!

As I said elsewhere why are city fans celebrating being allowed to play in a tournament they they apparently aren't arsed about and can't be arsed to turn up and watch.

I actually am, I thought maybe a reduction to 1 year, but you know when City were so confident the second they appealed that they knew they could just bribe the cas judges. BTW Who are these cas judges and who regulates them?

Reading through all the guff and it appears that the “breeches” appear to be outside the timeline of 5 years , so at one stage they did break FFP but years ago so nothing can be done

They are following FFP at the moment

This is better for us. I didn’t fancy taking them on for the league if that was all they had to focus. It’s a real shame that Leicester and Chelsea a re F***ing it up though as was hoping this decision would keep the mancs out of the Chsnpuons League next season

Thought this myself for a bit but their squad is more than able to cope with fixture pileup and they've proved it the last few seasons. Could also see them go on a spending spree now that they've been given the green light to do whatever they want financially

But that makes no sense to me, firstly I was not aware of a statute of limitations in ffp breeches, nor it seems we're the uefa panel. The other part of the judgement where they acknowledge City blocked/interfered with the investigation but its not serious is what make my blood boil as that should be even worse. In common law perverting the course of justice is a very serious offence, why not for City?

But the investigation started within that 5 year period? Possibly a reason why City done all they could to hinder and stall the investigation.
