Well that was a bit sh*t the last 10 mins. Forward line not working at all plus the senior players very sloppy.

Hmmm think we need to be switched on more in possession. Being lulled into believing we are controlling the game.

Getting a tougher battle than we did against that team in the last round.

A bit shaky out there - The Shrews fighting back well, but some nerves showing I think - need half time to settle down, re-focus, and take control.

Poor stuff. Fab looks rusty, a bit lightweight overall. Origi through the middle

Elliott, Origi and Minamino have all been a bit off their games.

Fabinho looks a few weeks away from his best.

Apart from that no big complaints.  Their forward should have scored that 1-on-1 though.

      This could well stay 1-0.

Rather boring game, we have no threat attacking wise, getting caught out at the back must change things next half.

Making our own mistakes tbh mainly from the players who’ve just come back from injury which can be expected, been disappointed with origi
But jones,Pedro & Williams have been great especially Williams who’s impressing again.

Scrappy half with a couple of scares.
Very much like the Bitters game.
      Hopefully a similar second half.
Bit more of the fluid one and two touch passing and well open them up. We seem to want 3,4 & 5 touches at the moment.
Up the pace and the passing and well overpower them.

Elliott is a young lad so not digging him out but his work has been imprecise today.

Hasn't found his weight of pass. Minamino is being worryingly pushed about but you can see he has technique.

      Chirivella has been very good.

      Stand out performers so far;

Adrian, Chirvella, Willaims, Jones (in that order).

Feel for the team here as the pitch is woeful, can see the ball bobbling up all over the place. Minamino has shown good industry, hope to see him attack the goal a bit more. Origi needs to get hold of the ball more also.

Hope to see Keita on at some point in the second half, maybe for Fabinho (who hasn't got to grips with the condition of the pitch).

Indeed, just can’t quite remember who they were. Obviously not a top team or I’d remember them!  :f_whistle: :f_tongueincheek:

Expect us to stretch this lead in the 2nd half. Great experience for all and barring getting Keita on at some point, I imagine Jürgen is happy to stick with this team. Players need minutes and most of the guys on the bench could do with a rest.

Agree about Williams and Chirivella doing well. Origi and Takumi need to sharpen.

      Edited to clarify

Dont think Klopp would be happy to lose at all. The way things are going in the league, pretty soon there will be no reason not to go for this fully.

The senior outfield players have been poor mainly due to being rusty.  It would be nice for Origi to get on the score sheet he hasn't had much game time it is a nice weapon to have him as a goal threat on the bench.   The kids have been good barring Elliot and Larouci.  It is a good team wouldn't want Fabinho to play the whole game he isn't quite match fit.

Exactly, why not pick up as many trophies as possible up on the way to number 19.

Especially because I think we could get to the Semi's at least with a makeshift team, not necessarily our strongest 11.
