To be honest, I think this is gonna bite us on the arse. Well if your an FA cup lover that is.
Can only see U18s and U23s getting bullied all over the park.
Only way we’ll best these with a team of kids is if we can turn it on like the second half v Everton.
On the evidence of the first game v these, and previous recent results, don’t think that’s gonna happen.
      Another lesson for Jürgen methinks.
Completely understand the issue with giving the first team a break .
The type of game we play, they need it more than most !

Yikes, didn't know that, hopefully the razzle dazzle of playing at Anfield might put Shrewsbury off their stride , but I am not confident of this now, then again who cares, even if we win the match we then have a very tricky away tie against Chelsea where we would have to play some of the senior players.

Problem is that it's still men against boys physically and in 3 or 4 seasons time a few of these lads will probably end up in league 1 and 2 even once fully physically developed.

Set pieces will be a challenge for us, and one of the centre halves we played V Everton who was physically developed has now gone back to his loan club in Germany.

I still think replays should be the same XI that played the first game, minus injuries obs. But if Jürgen wants out and it's pissing off the no mark gobshites around footy it's fine by me.

But Lovren is going to be on his jollies.

2 under 21 centre halves against league 1  bully strikers. Going to be tough cos they're going to get pinned off all the long balls up to the striker.

      No it isn't?

Part of the sales criteria is that you need to have attended the West Brom game from 2 years ago. The criteria could drop to people with no previous history but even then they'll still need to have a membership (£30) in order to buy a ticket, which they probably won't as they don't attend games. So for a newcomer an adult ticket will cost closer to £50 & a child's ticket closer to £30

There'll also be thousands of empty seats as there will people on the autocup scheme who live outside of Liverpool won't bother travelling up to watch the u23s play a midweek game, but won't cancel their ticket as they'll lose out on the credit for future sales.

Club could have done much better

Here's the post you replied "that's exactly what they're doing" to

Anyone else think the club might miss a trick here.
Sell the tickets at a reduced rate and politely ask that season ticket holders and members don’t buy them.
Might give a new generation of fans their first taste of Anfield.

They're cutting prices but the ground will be full of empty seats bought by STH & members, meaning a new generation won't get a taste of Anfield.

      That's 1/3 they've followed through on  ;)
