Lets go 22 points clear. Difficult opponet who are in good form. Hard to believe the way they are playing now that they lost a game 9 nil this season. But surely we will have too much. 2-0 Reds!!  :kop5cf8koxp6: :kop5cf8koxp6:

I think we will once again, prove too good for our weekend opposition. Southampton have started to put a run together following an abysmal start to the season. Danny Ings, also on a good run of form. Shame he had little chance to prove himself with us due to a number of injuries.  Most of his goals are from in and around the six yard box, but I don't think he will get the service he thrives on against us.
I'm expecting them to be quite defensive and looking to counter, like most sides of late. It doesn't work though does it.
Im expecting a good comfortable win 3 - 0 to the mighty reds, And almost total control of the game. They will have a moment or two, but we will be to solid for them to make a breakthrough.
So hoping it all goes to plan, and another 3 points, and City not playing until Sunday, i'll be happy to be 22 points ahead and see how they cope with the pressure.  (humiliation)  Come on you Spurs. Another Moureen bus parking exercise and eek out a draw.  ;D ;D

They've been a bit better of late, but I still fancy us to beat them quite easily and then its a nice 2 week break for all the lads to recharge the batteries ready for the final push.

NB: Team no longer available]NB: Team no longer available

No Curtis Jones in the team builder so I guess I'll go with Divock to start.

Bench: Adrian, Lovren, Matip, Fabinho, Lallana, Keita, Minamino.

I could possibly see Keita starting for Ox, just as a matter of freshness and because Naby did wel when he came in on Wednesday. I would be very surprised to see Fabinho start because he hasn't played well the last two outings. Too soon for Lallana to start after missing training for more than a week.

Curtis Jones should be among the subs before Minamino but new player morale and all that. Same goes for not needing two center backs on the bench, but again, people need to be kept happy and none of these are likely getting in anyway, so no matter.

So we welcome S@ints to fortress Anfield tomorrow in what I regard as the ninth step to the holy grail, since we are still unbeaten this season there is only one outcome and depending what mood the lads are in, the only question is by how many ?

They got totally fu**ed over by the Foxes earlier this campaign but Soton are a different animal now from that embarrassment, but unfortunately for them their bark is no worse than their bite and are probably facing another mauling,

We also welcome back wee Danny Ings, and I for one hope the Kop give him a rapturous applause, for what this fella went through while he was here was incredible, sustaining two major injuries like he did would probably see off most , but not once did he complain or whinge, he simply got on with things worked his nads off and made it back into contention, also the work he did with the ressies, helping them develop, nurturing and passing on his knowledge, he is the model professional and it’s so pleasing to see him bang in the goals for his club, just don’t score tomorrow please Danny.

Alisson, Trent, Gomez, Virgil Robbo, Hendo, Ox , Gini, Salah, Bobby, Origi. It picks itself. If Origi is unfit (Klopp said that he had only cramp), I would swap him with Jones. However, I think that Klopp would play Keita there before Jones.

Tick this one off and we’re into the home stretch , it’s seems strange as a fan to be completely at ease , they normally put us through the ringer but this time we can relax and we’ll , just simply enjoy what out team has done , we may well lose a game this season , but there’s no way we are dropping six from here on in .
Cmon you reds superb effort thus far .

Can't see us sitting on our laurels though.
Saints have been strong and Ings has been great for them.
BUT we are making history :)
This is an incredible team and fully expect us to go about this in the right way.

A nice 3pm kick off, but won't be able to watch it live  :( there's only one outcome at Fortress Anfield for me and to take us 22 points clear, bloody amazing that stat, a  nice little 3 points  nearer the holy grail of our first league trophy for soooooo many years, it just gets that little bit real as each game goes by.
The lads will have deserved their break after this game as we march on for the final hurdle with renewed vigor.
Southampton have done better of late but I'm confident we've got more than enough to hurt them. I'm going for a 3-0 and another clean sheet.

Like the way they regrouped after the Leicester mauling.Danny Ings has led from the front, if he's fit he'll be out to show he can score against the best. They will sit deep and try to catch us out in possession. Busy team who can cause problems if we don't go about our business the right way.

Looking for a 3-0....2 in the first half and a late third to put the game to bed.

I expect us to win again but a word of caution about our opponents, from the official site:

"Southampton have won more away games in the league (six) and scored more goals (18) than any other team outside of the top four. Sixty-five per cent of Southampton's points earned this season have come away from home."

I'm sure Jürgen will have made sure the team know this lot have some sting in the tail, especially on the road, apparently.

Think the last few games we’ve struggled a bit against these, would be nice to have a nice convincing win today.

But that said, as long as we get the 3 points Im sure we’d get over them putting up a fight.

Vital we send City into their game tomorrow 22 points behind us.

I like the way Hasenhuttl has these playing, and since the 9-0 mauling by Leicester they have bounced back and now play some good football. Almost like Leicester they look to create chances but that does leave them open.

Whether or not they will change their play because its us is another matter (they'll probably play deeper) but overall a good team. Ings is obviously on top form, I like the look of Moussa Djanepo for them but hes a real mixed bag of a player still at the moment and is in and out of the side and Hojbjerg has started to become the solid all round midfielder that people thought he could be when he moved from Bayern, and was linked to Spurs late on in the window.

I think we will have far too much for them though and another win here takes us another step closer to number 19.

I would run out the same line-up that we saw mid-week vs the Hammers. If Origi is not fit enough to start than I would stick Minamino up with the attack.

I think this is going to be a tricky game given the recent form of Soton. Early goal would be nice to ease the pressure off but looking for 3 points and clean sheet.
