Won't mention the 85Billion Euro bailout that saved the Republic's bacon.

Well you did. No idea why.

When PIGS got into difficulty, the EU stepped in to bail them out. That's what the EU does, rally round. They have all since recovered.

The jury is still out of course but Johnson has big ideas and money on the hip, I will reserve judgment and see what happens instead of having a go before a ball has been kicked.

The ball was kicked last summer. So far, it's led to multiple losses of votes in Westminster, mass resignations/sackings, lieing to the Queen, and failure to quit the EU on October 31.

      Quote
I don’t understand this obsession with prime ministers turning up to every disaster that happens as if they will turn up with some magic wand.

He should go, as Head of government it's his job. Even Donald Trump goes to states in his country when problems happen, however much he doesn't want to.

Nobody wants to visit flood hit areas, but they still go. You would expect the local MP to show up, let alone the PM.

Germany and France gave them loans to make profits, you think they have all recovered? Your miles from reality.

That was because of a Parliament who the majority were trying to overturn the referendum.

Clearly, the "Parliament v People" ruse worked on you.

      Meanwhile, 1 month in:

      No EU Trade Deal
      No US Trade Deal

      Flu epidemic.
      Flooding rampant.
      Finance Minister abandons ship..
Sterling collapses 4p v the Euro in less than a week.

Homeless figures increase by 141% in 10 years, i.e since the EU days. But at least that's something the British Government can control.

When the PIGS needed to be bailed out, the EU responded on tap. That's what the EU does, rally round to look after it's periphery regions. As a city, Liverpool had a lot to thank Brussels for down the years when the British Government didn't want to know, but if they still don't want to know nowadays, the city has to fend for itself.

Post-Brexit US trade deal: 0.16% economic boost predicted
The government has estimated a post-Brexit trade deal with the United States would boost the UK economy by 0.16% over the next 15 years.

The figure is included in a 180-page document setting out the UK's negotiating position for talks, expected to begin later this month.

The document pledges to maintain maintain food standards and stresses that the NHS is "not on the table".

It comes as separate trade talks with the EU get under way in Brussels.

The UK government said a US deal should seek to lower import taxes, or tariffs, on many UK exports - and increase trade in services.

      https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-51706802

      0.16%

      Governments own figures.

Listening to radio 5 live this morning & im pretty sure I heard correctly that..

In order for the UK to have a trade deal with the EU one of the points raised was the UK can’t buy chlorinated chicken from the USA due to higher food standards of the EU & the EU won’t allow such foods into the EU from the USA.. 😂

      I’m proper confused..

The UK government can buy as much chlorinated chicken it wants after 2020, it’s nothing to do with the EU. It would mean lowering environmental standards though which the UK government will not do. Not confusing really it’s quite simple.

Btw, that is 0.01% per year. The price of freedom, in inverted commas. I'm sure to the Brexiteers, it's mouth watering. I'm sure to Sturgeon, it makes her foam at the mouth.

The bigger question is, how much of that 0.01% "boost" will end up in Liverpool?

It’s actually 0.16 per year and it’s only based on reducing tariffs by 25% bringing in 3.4 billion per year. Baseless forecasts really as no one knows.

Meanwhile the EU is “rallying round “ to stop refugees from entering by shooting in front of boats, trying to capsize boats and prodding them with poles.

I don't think the UK is in the best place to take the moral ground on immigration, considering what's happened since the referendum.

No it isn't. The figure posted is over 15 years, not per year. But even if it was, the figure is still absurd. Either the government is lieing or incompetent. Take your pick.

It's like being promised the land of milk and honey, and ending up as a bowl of Crunchy Nut Flakes with semi-skimmed milk. It would obviously be a state handout, as somebody else needs their ration of the 0.01% boost, too.

I stand corrected I read it wrong, but it’s still only graphs and pie charts not what will actually happen. Still got plenty more deals to do.

Correct. Part of the EU and the rest of the countries have been squabbling for 3 years as to who takes how many whilst they live in sh*t.

The issue is nothing to do with supporting member states. It is everything to do with Ankara breaking their agreement with Brussels to house Syrian refugees, which they were well compensated for.
