i was just having a look around the twitter and a couple of the supporters groups here had listening to the lfctv commentary get togethers! Not sure if this is dedication to the cause or a bit sad? And also dodgy streaming sites are your friends lads!

Whenever i try one of those I get some extra-gross porn image that i can't close out of quickly enough. I spend the rest of the day trying to forget what I saw.

As for the LFC audio commentary get-together...I would constantly be telling the others to shut it because I can't hear Steve Hunter and whichever woeful sidekick he has on for that match. If I go to watch at a pub when it's on TV I always have to navigate one or two guys trying to (loudly) prove how much they know about Liverpool football (which almost always marks them as posers). For me it is best to watch or listen in solitude.

But a match-WATCHING get-together for the title decider with some of the regulars on LFC Reds, those of us States-Side for whom flying over is not a realistic possibility, that might be a fun way to ring in the title.

But YOU know what you're talking about.

Re the ads, not this time. Doesn't come up on my browser for anything else and knowing a little about what law enforcement has to deal with in that industry, it is an industry I feel very strongly against.

Not to dampen the mood or anything, looks like we have a few days of an LFC news blackout until the boys get back to Melwood on Monday.

I was thinking about a thread tracking the likelihood of our U23 players developing into first teamers here or somewhere else - but as it would talk about the next few years for our current first teamers, probably should wait until after we finish this historic season. Still work to do with this one.

He’s strangely silent on the goals they got that shouldn’t have stood in the first game that led to them getting the replay.
Also wasn’t moaning about us not fielding a full strength team in the first game that gave them the chance of getting a replay.
If his team was able to beat our kids then he’d have had an away game at Stamford Bridge as well as Anfield, to which I’m sure he wouldn’t be moaning about us not playing a full strength team if they managed that.

Anfield had near full capacity that night I think, it’s not us who decides which games are on TV.

They ruined it themselves and now have the colour of bitter about them.

Just the media stirring things. That quote was from a report published to Shrewsbury fans in the terms of openness from the reply from the FA. They made the original complaint about our team line up after the game.

He's having a pop at the club because we reduced the ticket prices, which meant they didn't get as big a windfall as they expected. As it was our home game, that was our right. As is normal when a big club is home v lower league club in the cup, none of the broadcasters were interested in showing the replay live. That has nothing to do with us.

He's lucky they got a replay at all. If VAR was available in the original fixture, we would have won it and they would have made even less money. It was available in the replay, it was required, and we won it.

No, he’s not having a pop about the ticket prices in that quote is he. Read the quote properly from him “we struggled to believe that his statement had no effect on the replay being televised”

Is he moaning about the ticket prices being reduced? No.
Was there any reference to ticket prices? No, because we gave them £35,000 after the game.
Is he moaning about the game not being televised and blaming us for it? Yes.

:lmao: So you can't win against our kids and are blaming us for not featuring our first team?

I'd have sat up to listen if he had won his match, as he could've beaten our first team as well, which is a stronger case to argue for a live broadcast.

I would have thought about this before saying what he told the press.

He mentions how it affected them financially three times. The last time it is "...the financial reward that would have been expected from LFC playing their strongest team".

The clear implication is, if we played our strongest team, the ticket prices would be standard rates, and as it was made clear that we would not do that, we slashed the rates to  C Team levels, and they didn't make as much revenue as expected.

As it happened, we did play our strongest team available on the night, and the players were still good enough to win the tie. He should be more concerned about why our C Team were able to beat their full strength side than complaining to the FA.

You assume this is regarding ticket prices yet he doesn’t mention that but does mention the game not being televised.

What part of us giving them £35,000 after the game are you not understanding? We gave them our share of the gate receipts. We could have kept the prices the same and the chances are they wouldn’t have gotten anymore than that.

There is no argument about what line up we fielded with regards to ticket prices because we gave them the difference.

Did they complain about ticket prices due to not playing our strongest line up? NO
Did they blame us for the game not being televised and losing money that way? YES

If they were pissed about the ticket prices then they’d have no doubt said so. But because we gave them that £35k, they can only complain about it not being on TV.

Are you going to provide any quotes that say the point was about ticket prices?...assuming you can do that properly because you can’t seem to when quoting someone on here.

Understand?! Or are you deliberately trying to have everything suit your own narratives despite it being there for you to read in black and white?!
