Scum that mate, seen an article in the Echo the other day where a flat on my street had been listed for 26k for a night! Whether or not anybody is daft enough to pay is a different matter but they've got some cheek thinking they can even charge people that.

Might be worth looking at an AirBnB or something on the Wirral if the prices in town are going to be ridiculous, as long as you're closeish to a train station (which there are plenty of on the Wirral) you'll be able to get straight into Liverpool Central in about 10-20 minutes. Could possibly be a bit of a nightmare trying to get a cab on the way back but if you're out for the long haul the buses and trains will start again at about 6. Be plenty of bars open until then too!

Live in the City myself & use public transport very regularly so if you're unsure about anything or any logistics just give me a shout

You’re a top fella. Thanks mate. There’s a spot for $46,000. Forty-six F***ing thousand. Our own were complaining about Kiev doing that and then some people pull this sh*t.

And glad you said that as i found a spot in Ellesmere Port at around the same rate as previous. Looked a good location to get in and out of the city - neither of us plan on an early night anyway :D

Yeah that's it, bad hypocrites. Being in Liverpool you'd presume a lot of them would be reds themselves. Heard loads of stories of lads who couldn't make it to Kiev / Madrid and sold their ticket off to the highest bidder instead of sorting their mates out. But they'll be the first to moan about touts

Should be sound in Ellesmere Port, about 25 minutes on the train into Central

      Ellesmere Port?
Jesus yuz are out in the wilds there to say nothing of the wrong side of the river, why not Google B&B's in say Aigburth, Dingle or any suburbs near town, excellent rail travel and if you get stuck in town won't cost the earth to get a cab back.
Mossley Hill is a good base, 10 mins from town and loads of bars, bistros on Smithdown Road..
Sure you and Ian will have a boss time.

Yep anywhere on South Liverpool would be a good shout (although I reckon they'll be near enough fully booked / charging an arm and a leg for what's left)

The 86A bus passes through most of the south end of the city and runs 24hrs, so if you do manage to get somewhere booked around that area you won't have the stress of trying to source a taxi back on the night

try West Kirby on the Wirral its only about 20 mins or so on the Train right into Liverpool City Centre.
Or New Brighton and you can get the Ferry over and walk along the famous see front.

Just a thought. Providing the unthinkable doesn’t happen, and we do secure the league title, if we were to navigate our way to a 3rd consecutive Champions League final, then would the club postpone the parade of the Premier League trophy on the chance of potentially being able to do it with the Champions League trophy too? Or would they do 2 parades in under 2 weeks if we were to win both?

Obviously some people need to get on and sort accommodation but maybe worth considering sorting it for a couple of dates. Then if that does happen, at least you’d have potentially gotten accommodation for a better price. Can always cancel the one not needed.

The finalists will be confirmed on the 6th of May.

I read that the Premier League parade is definitely going ahead on the 18th.

But just in case... I'll be heading to Croatia in that little break between the PL and UCL Final, then going direct to Istanbul for the final. Hopping on a flight the first thing back the morning after that to Manchester and in Liverpool in time for the parade.

Buzzing. Booked my plane tickets today. Flying into Manchester on the 15th night. Train it to Newcastle, stay there 3 nights, hopefully by some miracle, me and Crouchie get Newcastle tickets for the game on the 17th, then next morning the 18th, catch the train to Liverpool. Staying in Liverpool to the 25th and then flying home 9.30am in the morning.

Buzzing can't wait....just have to do the train tickets, accommodation and match tickets and will be sorted. Wish us luck and thanks for everyone's help so far.

Worth a go even in one of the home ends if you don't get lucky in our end. Not sure on the ticket situation there but it could end up on General Sale. In is in after all - just keep ya eyes on their website!

I've found a BnB in Hoylake right next to the train station for £150 from the Saturday to the Tuesday. That'll do. Not as ideal as having an apartment on Strand but who cares really, just a place to rest the head.

Thanks for the heads up and advice, lads.

To be fair.  Not everyone in Liverpool supports Liverpool!  Having said that, these clowns have just read something in the Echo and decided to chance their arm.

I don't genuinely believe any human is paying these ridiculous sums of money!  You'd just jump on a train and stay 30 minutes away, or bring a tent!

Ok so starting to plan stuff now and you guys know me, I'm F***ing hopeless when it comes to this sh*t. Wish you were with me Crocuhie!!!

So I arrive Manchester airport 15/5/2020 at approx 7:15 pm....then need to make my way (thinking by train) to Ibis budget Manchester Centre, Pollard Street. (approx 4 pounds)

Depart the next morning 16/5/20 to Newcastle Central railway station by train FROM Manchester Piccadilly Station. (approx 76 Pounds)

Arrive Newcastle, same date, some 2.5 hours later, then a 4 minute walk to Sleeperz Hotel AT 15 Westgate St, Newcastle

DUMP BAGS IN ROOM AND BOLT TO THE GROUND TO SEE IF I CAN SCORE ANY SORT OF TICKETS FOR ME AND CROUCHIE

Depart Newcastle 18th May approx 9am, the earlier the better.

Arrive Liverpool around Midday 18/5/20 ( now I don't know what station to go to, if my Hotel is The Tune Hotel at 13-19 Queens Building, Liverpool L2 ( HELP OR SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED PLEASE)   Approx 85 Pounds.

In Liverpool till the 25th, flight home out of Manchester is at 9.50am so guessing will have to be there at least 3 hours early so if I book a train out of a (suggested Liverpool train station, any help again pls), will probably need to leave Hotel for 6.15 am train, getting into Manc Airport at 7.32am ...2 hours b4 flight. Will already be checked in beforehand, just need to put a suitcase through. Would that give me enough time for a 9.50am Departure? Approx 15-16 pounds is the cost.

Does this all sound right or have I fu**ed up my whole planning? Was just doing it on Google maps and trying to figure out best train stations closest to my hotels that I have booked.

Thinking of doing all this by a link one of you guys, think it was Stuey, for the National rail UK.

       http://nationalrail.co.uk.

Would this be the best and cheapest site to book all the Train trips I have planned? Do i have to be a UK Citizen to book these train rides? Do u suggest pre booking from Australia or just go over there and do it on the spot, at the time?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help, a most likely, lost Aussie, out!!!

Maybe a little cheaper to do Manchester to Newcastle as a return, about £82, and possibly do Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool as a return as well, but singles could well be cheaper, especially taking into account your travelling to the airport at the end leg.

National Rail site will probably redirect you to another site to book tickets

Should be able to arrange pick up of your tickets from Manchester Piccadilly self service machines, except of course the Airport to Picadilly leg.

Going to need to wait a few days to book though,  as tickets only available up to 23rd May at the moment.

If you were/are willing to go a little slower and if the times work for you, Manchester-Newcastle then Newcastle-Liverpool would be about £12-13 via Megabus.

Funnily enough planned on staying at that Ibis in Pollard St a few months back when me & my girlfriend got a late flight back to Manchester and had no way of getting back to Liverpool until the next day. Luckily the flight was delayed so we managed to jump a train back in the end, but from what I remember it's just by Piccadilly Gardens so a train from Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly will get you there no problem

In terms of stations for your hotel in Liverpool any station in the City Centre will be sound - If your hotel is on Castle St I think the closest will be Moorfields Station but if your train let's you out at Lime St, James St or Central Station you'll be fine as they're all in the city centre and are all only about a 10 minute walk from where you're staying. Really nice area Castle St, bit pricey but there's some good bars & restaurants around there.

For getting to Liverpool from Newcastle Transpennine express (a train company who operates that route) had a £1 sale on last week but I think you may have just missed out! As Roddenberry said if you don't mind an extra hour or two travelling you can get a Megabus & save yourself a few quid. National Express are another coach company who are really good - Coaches are comfy with plenty of legroom etc (I've done 6/7 hour journeys in the past to Glastonbury & London on them no problem) so they're worth checking out - could probably do Newcastle to Liverpool for less than £10

      EDIT: Just checked - Manchester to Newcastle is £5 on National Express (4hr Journey - Leave 8AM arrive 12PM) & Newcastle to Liverpool is £11 (5hr 50m journey 6.40AM - 12.30AM)

So £150+ savings for the beer bank if you don't mind a couple hours extra travelling!

Also - National Express coaches drop you off at Liverpool One Bus Station - about 5 minutes from Castle St where you'll be staying

Actually Oz, you will have to change when you get to Lime St from Newcastle you wil have to change to get to a station thats not far on foot so maybe walk it from Lime St. I'll be around if you want me to meet you out of the station, get you to the hotel and then to a decent boozer.

Mad prices there mate.  Think it's about 15 quid Newcastle to Carlisle (single) and about 15 quid Carlisle to Liverpool if you book in advance!  Probably not much difference in time either.

As I said if you're not travelling until May, I'd at least leave it until around start of April and see what is decided then.

With it being a day by day changing scenario it could still all change in a month.

Yep that's the plan....can't get money back from Insurance so will have to wait till the Airlines says no flights allowed, then should be able to get my money back with any luck. Other then that, I'm coming over if I can't get refunded or the situation changes for the better.

Just another reason to hate them cu*ts in Manchester.

Hotels in Newcastle, Liverpool all refunded.

Airlines have given a 2 year window to rebook flights but those cu*ts for my one night stay in Manchester, charged my account in full and have said no cancellations allowed. After numerous angry emails, they have begrudgingly said I can have a credit, but must be booked by September and must be used no later then December 2020. Who the F**k knows when this thing is gonna be over!!!! cu*ts!!!!

Would have been flying out of Melbourne today. Shattered!!  :'( :'( :'(

I thought it may have been reaching another Champions League final that may have delayed this, not a virus!

But that’s bad to hear mate, I’m gutted myself as was looking forward to going back home, the parade and see some family. That’s nothing compared to how gutted you must be though.  Chin up though, it will happen, just a case of when rather than if.

Thanks Bro, realized last night. smack bang in the middle of watching the last episode of the Michael Jordan Doco, that me, Crouchie and u lot would have all been pissed somewhere, waiting for the Parade to start. Bought a Tear to my eye mate.
