Keegan was good but he was not as good as the man who replaced him at Anfield,King Kenny Dalglish.Still I wish the man a Happy Birthday.

Loved Kevin Keegan he was quite just superb and he would have been right at home today in Jurgens team as he worked his socks off every game.
He was on LFC TV yesterday and still clearly has the club very close to his heart indeed his fathers ashes are spread on the ground.

Definitely one of the greats from an era when we had a great great team

Way before my time but doesn't seem to be appreciated as much as he should be. Obviously Kenny came into replace him & pretty quickly took the crown but he never really gets spoken about in the same ilk as other legends, which is a bit sad because from what I've seen / heard (mainly from my da) he was right up there

Wishing him all the best anyway! Loved him as a manager, always wore his heart on his sleeve (to his own detriment probably at times) but I always respected him for that

Ahhh our Kevin, my favourite player in his day with big Tosh up front with him. Met him several times and what a gentleman he is, absolutely lovely, remembered it was his birthday yesterday, had no idea he was 69 though.

Great memories of a great player.

My grandson is called Keegan  ;D

Kevin Keegan was in fact signed as a promising right sided midfield player with about a 1in6 goal ratio with Scunthorpe. It was Shankly who noticed in training matches etc that Keegan had the dynamic energy and drive that would enable him to play up front.

And what a masterstroke it was as Keegan helped the club win the First Division titles, FA Cup, the Uefa Cup and our first European Cup in '77. A fantastic player and he was as instrumental in making that transformation from the great 60's team to the great 70's team.

Amazing player in his own right and deserves nothing but praise from all Liverpool fans....oh and happy birthday Kev..

Always one of my legends. Left with dignity.
Had a tremendous, almost telepathic understanding with big John  Toshack !
Little fella with a huge appetite for the game, who ran and ran and ran and ran.
      Happy birthday Kev.

      Congrats.

I never saw any videos of him. I know him more during his backroom career. How was he as a player? Any easy resembles to any modern player?
