Maybe some people have never heard of that.
But the point the other poster was making was the increase in reported cases.

      Reported being the key word

Has there actually been an increase 🤷‍♂️

There has been an increase in players collapsing on the pitch holding their chest recently...

Could it be covid vaccine related..?

It's imperative to aspirate when administering the vaccine. This means after inserting the needle pulling back the plunger to see that there is no red, meaning you have not accidentally hit a blood vessel. The vaccine can be a problem for some when injected into the bloodstream, into the muscle it's totally safe.

It’s reported a lot more than it has before. Perhaps it’s just reported more. Maybe footballers have always collapsed. I mean three in the last week is a bit extreme.
And not just football. Other sports as well. And fans.

Excess death is up in some places (non covid) so perhaps there is more to it than just over reporting.

But who knows for sure. Maybe they are all covid related. Maybe they are all coincidences. Or maybe, just maybe, these super healthy sports stars are just feigning injury for a nice pay out.

Meanwhile in the world of actual news, cases in Israel have fallen to 4% of their peak following the successful roll out of the booster vaccine:

A new variant of concern has been identified in South Africa that has the potential for increased immune evasion and transmissibility:

Ooh a new variant. One which may even be too strong for the vaccinations.

And as for Israel... “as the country’s top coronavirus official warned that the country may already be seeing the start of a fifth infection wave.”

Vaccine escape in terms of infection has happened for a while.  Delta variant is far removed from the Wuhan variant that forms the vaccine everyone is having.

Ultimately if you haven't had covid then you may as well have your booster shots etc until you've had it - which you will.  If you've had it then you've likely got a strong immune response to all 26 proteins in the virus so I wouldn't worry about variants/mutations etc.  It happens with all the coronavirus/rhinoviruses and that's why you get more than a few colds in your lifetime.

Or maybe it’s been going on a long time before Covid and some people are just trying to find anything to connect to Covid - normally the domain of the anti vax

more sh*t on the way with a stronger variant looming in S.Africa so close the borders NOW dont wait for it to turn up and try and deal with it.
I have been concerned about what will happen in Africa if it gets a hold on the continent it worrying to say the least as this Variant seems potentially lethal

double mutations of that of delta and waaaaay different than the original strain.

Yeh, it's a cause for concern, especially that existing vaccines were designed for the wuhan strain.

Blame the media for reporting it again..... and blame the media for scaring the nation as well.
They have a lot to answer for.

Personally, I think there is an increase. When Cristian Erickson collapsed I remember it because it was a shock to see. Since then it’s pretty much standard each week to hear of a player collapsing or having breathing problems.
