Abundantly clear that allowing people to vote on anything was a huge mistake. At the time of great crisis large swathes of people worldwide are governed by f**king idiots

I find it mad how a lot of the people who were enraged by Corbyn's supposed inaction to challenge the goverenment on Brexit not too long ago, are now lauding Starmer for his inaction to challenge & scrutinize the government over their handling of a pandemic (in which Britain now has the #2 death count in the world)

Labour is going to tear itself apart as it splits into factions, the pro corbyn lobby don't seem keen on starmer, labour lost it's best chance in years and could be a very long time before it sees the corridors of.power.agsin

The biggest idiot is Johnson. ASLEEP at the wheel, to dim to crasp the urgency, to stupid to realise preparation is key. So bloody arrogant he thinks his upper class breeding will protect him from the virus and to prove it goes round glad handing coronavirus patients. Then the stupid sod becomes infected. His idiotic crass bone headed stupidity nearly cost him his life. Thousands of others aren't so lucky.

Undeterred goes back to lying his way through the crisis, pretending his Government is leading an heroic struggle against the virus when in reality he has made a desperate situation worse.

Exit strategy...ha..I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw the arrogant sod.

I despise Churchill's politics but as a leader during a time of national crisis he was head & shoulders above the current clown

Which way will Starmer lead the Party. Is he styling himself on a Blair like figure but a bit less phoney. Striking a calm interlectual tone, almost forensic cross examination style of debating. He will push more to the centre ground early on to try and keep the press from demonising him the way they battered Corbyn.

Corbynism still has great support with the members and if Starmer takes the party to far away from the grass roots he could lose a lot of support from the rank and file. When Starmer was DPP he was hardly a leftie. Hammered benefit cheats. Abstained on the Tory Welfare Bill. So it's clear he won't be keeping most of Johnny Mac's policies.

He is trying to avoid criticising Johnson or Hancock over the virus. Little bit to soft on Johnson for my liking.I get that he can't politicise the virus but he could be a bit more vocal, constructive. But Johnson will claim a Tory victory if...if they beat down the virus untill an effective vaccine is found so Starmer better up the ante and get noticed otherwise Johnson will cruise on to the next election and beyond.

The difference is that Brexit was/is a political issue and is therefore open to political challenge.
Starmer is trying hard not to make Covid a political issue whilst the country is struggling to get it under control. The time for politicising the issue is when it’s over and the governments handling of the crisis can be challenged. If he doesn’t do it then or can’t make the criticism stick then Labour may as well shut up shop.

As I said I get that Labour can't really politicise the virus but Johnson won't have any qualms about boasting if they get through to the vaccine stage without a serious second wave. Starmer isn't a man for big gestures but he has to be more vocal. John Ashworth should be out there as well. He's a good speaker, should be a lot more critical. Second line so to speak then Starmer can come in and put his stamp on it. Standing back isn't really what the country expects.

Cummings breaks rules on self isolation if you have symptoms of coronavirus....Cummings and his wife had to travelled hundreds of miles from London to County Durham while they had symptoms...well they had no one to look after their kids..What..why didn't his parents travel down to London .

If Johnson doesn't sack Cummings his credibility, his authority to tell people what to do during this pandemic is seriously undermined...bunch of hypocrits.

Wondering what kind of people get coronavirus and their first thought is to travel 250 miles to stay with their 75 year old dad.

The answer is selfish Tory pricks.

Same cu*ts who were sending covid positive patients back to care homes in April.

Worth noting too that somebody has been sitting on this story for 50 days. Just think of all those people who had to die alone because of the rules we all followed. Sad state of affairs. One rule for us one for them.

As expected, a passionate defence of Cummings today led by Tory spokesperson Laura Kuenssberg.

Probably the end of lockdown in all but name today, people will be thinking why should we be keeping away from our family when the government that's made these rules can't even do it themselves?

A man once rose above his station,
Then got ill with a nasty infection,
So the kid, wife and Dom,
      Buggered off to see Mom,
And infected half of the nation.

Don’t think I’ve seen such a media frenzy since the days of Harold Shipman. Of course the usual suspects are salivating, even Piers Morgan has “banned “ cabinet ministers from appearing on GMB , funny that as I thought they banned themselves weeks ago  :lmao:

Boris commits what should be political suicide (but depressingly won't be) by backing Cummings then.
